Dear Scott,
I would like to take this opportunity to publicly apologize for some of the uncharitable things I have said about your organization. Like many, I scoffed at the idea of having 40-year old professional wrestler and MMA novice headline your first PPV event. I questioned the wisdom of handing title shots to losers, of allowing your top talent to mercilessly push you around, and of not even extending a contract offer to your reigning middleweight champion. I'm still not sure why you did those things, but that's why you're a promoter and I'm just some lonely guy in my mother's basement, trolling the blogosphere. I apologize, unconditionally, for doubting your wisdom.
I'm apologizing now both because it's the right thing to do, and because I have a small request, and I want it to be clear that it comes from someone who has only your best interests at heart.
I ask only that you sign Paul "Semtex" Daley at your earliest convenience. Daley is a perfect fit for your organization. He's a proven draw, with a big mouth and a penchant for highlight reel knockouts. While he is a little vulnerable to elite MMA wrestlers, your organization, thankfully, doesn't have any of those at WW, so there would be nobody to get in the way of his earning a quick title shot.
Which brings me to my two biggest points: First, I can say, without exaggeration, that a fight between Daley and Diaz would be more appealing to me than any bout the UFC could stage at welterweight. It would probably be the best fight in the history of your organization (though you may want to invest in a little extra ring security, given their respective histories). Second, as Daley is currently under a lifetime ban from the UFC, it is highly unlikely that he will try to jump ship or otherwise screw you over once he has a championship belt.
I humbly await your response.
Your Pal,
Monte Fisto
