Rich Franklin tells MMA Torch he doesn't need surgery after all: "Everything at this point in time is going real well. I had a cast above my elbow to my mid bicep, and I got that cut off on Monday. They put a [new] cast below the elbow, it's like a plastic molded cast with the Velcro straps so I can actually take it on and off when I'm showering - which is great because it gives my arm a break from being stuck in something - but recovery seems to be going real well, the doctor likes what he sees in the bone growth and the alignment and all that kind of stuff, so it's looking promising to not [need to] have surgery at this point in time."

Good
I hope Ace’s recovery is swift and full. Quality fighter and a true class act

Drink Milk, Rich
Strengthen those bones. Milk. It does a body good.

Not getting kicked by Chuck Liddell also does a body good.

yeah
but it worked out ok in the end.
As much as I love Chuck, I was freaking out when Rich won.
Consequences of Chuck winning:
He fights someone tougher, gets KO’d
Muddles up title picture further
Chuck makes ridiculously hard to understand winning speech
Chuck believes he’s a contender
Consequences of Rich winning:
New contender, or near-contender
Chuck can and should retire
Rich can fight a “non-company-man” fight, at a real weight-class that’s not Franklinweight

Totally agree. Especially if it was the impetus for Chuck to head to the front office

Franklin vs. Bones in October/November
book it
When some wild-eyed, eight-foot-tall maniac grabs your neck, taps the back of your favorite head up against the barroom wall, and he looks you crooked in the eye and he asks you if ya paid your dues, you just stare that big sucker right back in the eye, and you remember what ol' Jack Burton always says at a time like that: "Have ya paid your dues, Jack?" "Yessir, the check is in the mail." - Jack Burton
No, please.
I don’t want the classy, great-for-the-sport Franklin to go out like that.

I don't want it either but...
seems like the logical next step

Why assume that he will lose? It could be a good fight.

You're right
and Bones first test. This is all of course he beats The Janitor, which seems likely, since it’s a step down for him.

Hahaha
Every fight is heralded as “his first test”. He broke Vera’s face as an aside. He’s not getting tested until Machida, Evans, Rua, Silva, or Lesnar want a piece.

I think if he fought Franklin it would have to be considered his toughest test yet
When I say test, I refer to someone who actually provides a little competition during the fight.

Easy, easy. Dude is scheduled to fight fucking Janitor and you’re saying that only the best fighters in the UFC could give him a fight?

logically
Every time he smashes an opponent we have to move the bar with which we are rating him, so the next tougher challenge becomes a test of his abilities.
If he were to destroy Franklin we’d have to reconsider again and test him once again.
Nah
I see Franklin/Griffin as more likely at this point.
Give me Franklin/Couture. Please!!!!

I was thinking the same thing, I don’t want to see it though I like Ace too much to watch him get Silva’d again.
