Stephan Bonnar joked on MMA Live that he fought Bones when he was in puberty and now he's filled out to a monster - also mentioning that he has a younger brother who is a d-lineman at Syracuse. Just look at the set - he dwarfs both Bonnar and Evans. He's got a huge wingspan, and admitted that he started camp at 231 pounds. Once he gets into his late 20s and puts some muscle on and grows out, Jones could have a real hard time cutting to 205 lbs.
Naturally, this is in the future. But Jones answer Bonnar's question by shrugging and saying that Randy Couture does it and he wouldn't be opposed to it. There have always been big light heavyweights - Tito Ortiz comes to mind - who can cut weight but Jones's frame is so long and big, one wonders if weight cutting might begin to take a toll on him as he moves forward. By my count, if he gets past Vlad the Janitor, he's probably two or three fights away from a title shot.
In a way, Jones really resembles Anderson Silva where his lean frame belies his power and both have long frames that make them difficult to grapple with. It also makes them able to jump weight classes. So, could Jon Jones do "The Randy" and take both LHW and HW titles?
