Tito Ortiz Says He Doesn't Think Chuck Liddell "Should Fight Anymore"

"I hope I get the Chuck fight. As a fighter, I would love to kick his ass. As a human being, I don't think he should fight anymore just because health is more important than fights," Ortiz said. "Grudge matches are important to sell, but at the same time he has kids to take care of and I don't want nothin' serious to happen to him. [Getting knocked out] that many times, it gets kinda scary. I was really shocked [by the loss to Rich Franklin fight]."

Eh, he'll be fine

I mean, what could go wrong? Serious spine and neck injuries = no big deal. As long as you have heart and you show up to give the fans what they came for, right? right? Anyone?

So Tito hopes he isn’t forced to hurt Chuck?

by MMABookworm on Jul 12, 2010 10:46 PM EDT reply actions

listen DANA make chuck vs tito 3

reson why is tito dosent have ko power standing…chuck is still has great at takedown defence…this would be a win for chuck to retire on and for tito to decide he isnt good enough anymore and decide to retire or go to SF…yes tito said chuck has serious medical reason to retire BUT he did say he would kick his ass…even tho he hasnt done it twice..yes chuck kod tito twice but let chuck leave on a good note..make it happen.

Part of me worries that Tito somehow knocks out Chuck, then Chuck saying he was doing good before getting caught.

That would imply that Tito has some sort of boxing skills.

Which is just ludicrous.

Forget it Donny, you're out of your element.

not to be confused with super sugar crisp.

Tito’s striking isn’t much, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see Liddell do what Silva does here, and just walk into Ortiz’s fist:

its chucks chin we are worried about right? his game is still complete

That would be a gift from god for tito to ko chuck on the feet. look every1 fighting has someone out there who has their number..and chuck has titos number…tito shows no ko power on the feet…and his takedowns are not so well when chuck is fighting him.. if this ko ur talking about was to happen hell yes chuck retire…but no1 sees this happening

It sounds great on paper

but realistically, Chuck practically ran into Franklins right hand, and no one saw that coming. Anything can happen, and if Tito kod Chuck, that would taunt his career as we would never hear the end of it.

tito isnt franklin

what I mean by that is franklin HAS ko power..not many ppl think that..but franklin packs a ko punch, go look at his record..tito has no ko power standing..most his wins are tko g n p wins…im not taking anything from tito…

I was just thinking Tito had been quiet for too long.

I guess he’s gotta like the menstrual cycle, raising its ugly head once a month.

Ribbit.

I just had an epiphany

Chuck Liddell v. James McSweeney

It’s perfect. Chuck can get one more payday / highlight reel KO and McSweeney can go be Rashad’s living breathing tattooed grappling dummy and then neither will set foot in the Octagon.

Win/Win/Win

I'm better than you. Na na na boo boo, stick your head in doo doo.

Bonnar

Tito Ortiz should fight Stephan Bonnar next. Bonnar has some juice back following his win, both are name veterans and neither will be fighting Shogun Rua in the future so why not?
