Just garbage drama and hype
I don’t need to hear Rogan and Dana say the same thing every episode.
On top of that I don’t care to watch the vast majority of fighters do anything except fight.
I have no interest in the trash talk or any talk at all. They’re athletes, less talking more fighting.
But hey, watch whatever you want. I just didn’t realize people watch these shows.
The question should be...
if you watch television at all, why wouldn’t you watch these? Why wouldn’t you want to watch anything mma-related at all?
Take ONE Karate class, if you're so into Karate...
I mean, that’s a MMA blog right? People come here to talk the shit outta MMA, and this member won’t watch a countdown if his life depended on it… I don’t care really, do what you want, but it seems a bit weirder than MMA fans watching countdowns to me.
I'm a lover not a fighter
lol...."I just didn't realize people watch these shows"
“these shows” are the reason why MMA is so popular and will put boxing to rest. People relate with these fighters when they understand them as people and not robots that are put in a cage to go at it until one of them tears the wiring out of the other. Besides, how do you know that Rogan and Dana say the same thing every episode if you don’t watch “these shows”? I agree with you on the trash talking situation but it does sometimes make for an interesting pre-fight hype called marketing.
I love these shows but Joe and Dana almost always say “this is the most important fight of his career”, “this is the biggest test of his career”, “he’s in the best shape of his life” and “this is going to be an exciting fight.”

Contrary to what you might believe, the fights themselves are at times secondary to the fighters themselves (to some fans). Fans of any sport get behind a team or an individual on an emotional level and want to know more about them. It is the whole idea of becoming a fan of a particular fighter or fighters. These Countdown shows do their job of giving a more personal look at a fighter’s life, and they are devices to hype up fights for those fans that need a reason to order the PPV. While there are some like yourself that just want to see fights, there are others that want to see a particular fighter or fighters.
I’m surprised that you are not aware of this.

I’m glad everyone else chimed in on this guy so I didn’t have too. I guess he’s too hardcore of a fan to watch The Countdown shows. He doesn’t care about the lives of these fighters he just wants to see the war.
Shut up, Tito.

So is Pat Mulatto?
If he is that’s pretty interesting!

Not only is Chuck the most ripped of his entire career...
he looks like he has added inches to his chest. I am not saying that more muscles = better fighter but it will be extremely interesting to see how it translates.
Take ONE Karate class, if you're so into Karate...
I hope it means
a good, quick Chuck that’s able to keep up with Rich.
He better not screw up my parlay.

damn barry looks huge
good luck mirko im pulling for u but i have completely given up
and rory mac is the best prospect at ww i see him giving a jon jones vs matt hamill type performance and opening everyones eyes
We have a saying back home that if your coming on, COME ON!!!!
Because Barry is huge, and it doesn’t seem like just muscle but that he is just a naturally wide fighter, I wonder if he can cut to 205 or not? He is not very tall, so it seems like he can make the cut.
I doubt that he could without taking off so much muscle as to make him ineffective. As you say, he’s very wide, and also naturally dense/thick. I think he’s gone the right direction by trying to add muscle and power to his frame rather than taking it off. A guy like him, his biggest weapon is his power and he’d likely lose some of that by dropping down.
Guys like Barry are the reason that they’ll eventually – not yet, but eventually – have to create a cruiserweight division.

This is going to be a great card. Kinda snuck up on me, as I wasn’t hugely enthused about Chuck/Tito, but Chuck versus Rich is a lot more fun. McDonald is going to lose to Condit, but that is going to be a hell of an exciting fight. I think Mirko gets beat down and I weep for the end, but get over it by realizing that Pat Barry is like, the greatest thing ever.

I have met him at a expo. Out of all of the fighters I met he was the nicest. He asked me my name which I know he’d never remember and I really don’t care if he remembered but I thought it was just a nice gesture to even ask. I hope he wins. I thought they did a great job telling his story on the Countdown as well.
Shut up, Tito.

That story is amazing, how leading up to the 104 fight he had no money, and then won those bonus’s… that is an inspiration. This is why I love the countdown show, because I never would have known his back story.
He tells a funny story
about trying to deposit his $130,000 check in his zero’d out bank account, with black eyes and stitches, definitely worth looking for. Love that guy!

Chuck's girlfriend
Ok so she has influenced him abit………but they threw that down our throats…..please god don’t let this be the precursor to Chuck and Heidi:The Reality Show.
I'm from Canada, and they think I'm slow eh!
Every time I see Pat Barry...
The more I like the guy. Really excited to see what he can do on saturday. Dude has HUGE potential.
