How many A-Team: The Movie ads were purchased
just so this lame ass sketch could make the show?
However many, it wasn’t enough. That was just sad.
I don’t know what’s more sad -
1. That this is the best they could come up with for Rampage.
2. That Virgil and Mike Rotunda are still on TV.
3. I had already read the online report describing this before the video was posted.
I’m voting for # 3.

ha, i same thought (re: #2). how is that i haven’t watched wrestling in 20 years and the same guys are still on? incredible.
They brought a lot of older guys back just for this set of sketches. I think Rotunda works as a road agent for the WWE and both of his children wrestle in the WWE developmental league, he works behind the scenes for the company. Virgil came back to put over Ted DiBiase jr. a couple of weeks ago and has stuck around for a bit, being as he is 47 years old I doubt he will be around the WWE for long.
My vote is for #3.

This may sound contradictory, but I am still a professional wrestling fan, but I don’t watch the shows very much. I just read the results online. I do go to independent wrestling shows because it is more in-ring wrestling based. There are many professional wrestling fans that have become MMA fans. This is a good example of how low the quality of professional wrestling has become with these campy comedy skits. When professional wrestling is actually good, it can actually be fun to watch, but when it is like this and just bad, it makes me glad that I am more of an MMA fan than a professional wrestling fan.
Wait, what?
You only check the results? Which are fake? And don’t watch the performance? Which is (in some sense) real?

Hell, you need to have your head checked.

You’ve never just read a recap of a TV show before, because you missed it or didn’t feel like watching it?

No.
I’m trying not to make a sex joke here, but it’s a real strain.

To explain myself, if the reviews of these shows are good and if they are consistently good, I may start watching an episode or two. Like I said, I am still a fan of professional wrestling, and I do want to see it do well. I am still interested in the characters as well.
I shouldn’t have used the word “results” because it just makes it seem like I am reading the results of the matches and nothing else. What I meant was that I read a review of the whole show.
Okay, that makes more sense.
Not enough to qualify as “making sense” but at least it’s closer. :-)

What exactly doesn’t make sense? It seems like other posters (below) understood what I was talking about. The professional wrestling product is at a low right now, and I don’t feel that either WWE or TNA management/creative are doing anything with their product right now to compel me to watch their programs regularly. However, the talent is there, and it is that talent that still makes me a fan. I’ve seen these wrestlers have good matches and be in good feuds, but lately, the creative department has been lacking in interesting story lines or ideas to really make me want to watch the product. I still read the reviews of these shows though because sometimes I will read something that catches my attention, or I will see a talent moving up the ladder, or something else which might compel me to watch an episode or two or catch a replay.
I didn’t mean for this to be funny. Like I said up top, I shouldn’t have used the word "results" because it just makes it seem like I am reading the results of the matches and nothing else. What I meant was that I read a review of the whole show like the promos, matches, feuds, and seeing where storylines are going.
I havent even attempted to watch wrestling since it was the WWF.
Somehow they managed to make the storylines even worse.
So Apparently...
Brock Lesnar is the only MMA fighter who was stigmatized for a pro wrestling connection…
He was really, really really good at it. And haters gotta hate.

Dammit!
you know I was trying to find a gif of this. It still confuses me why Brock would do this considering how much of a homophobe he is.

I loved the WWF for so many years, and even after seeing Mae Young give birth to a bloody rubber hand, this was one of the more bizarre segments I’ve seen.
Virgil? In 2010???!
"He hit like a bitch."
Yeah...
anybody surprised by how terrible this is really hasn’t paid attention to wrestling for the last decade.

I know basically jack shit about pro rasslin
but isn’t dibiase considered a really good ‘scientific’ wrestler – which is to say (if I have my terminology correct) , he actually knows a pretty fair amount about immobilizing and submission holds?

Yeah last time I really was a WWF fan was around 1993-94
When Virgil became a wrestler himself and turned against Ted, and Shawn Michaels had his epic heel turn and screwed over Marty to go solo and have that whole persona change… Last time I ever watched casually was in 1998-99 with that Attitude era… Is it me or has it become infinitely worse since then?
I still remember Shawn Michaels super kicking Marty through the mirror. One of the first WWF images that stuck with me.

THey brought back Virgil and IRS? hahahahahaha We gonna get Tito Santana sighting next?
At USC we're not snobs, we're just better than you.
Wow. That was pretty lame. Don’t get me wrong I’m a wrestling fan but mostly from the old school: Hogan, Ultimate Warrior, and some from the new Cena and Lesnar days. But I suppose Quinton has to do whatever it takes to promote the A-Team movie.

I dont know if its that we were all younger and just ate everything up easily or were the wrestlers characters waaaayyyyyyy better back in the day? I watched for a bit last night and literally did not know more than half the werestlers on the show. Anyway, those guys suck! Ted Debiase Jr??? Ted Debiase Sr must be rolling up in his grave! FOR SHAME, Vince, FOR SHAME!

Ted DeBiase Jr. actually is Ted Debiase’s son, heck he went onto Raw to interduce his son for his first tv appearance. All three of Ted DeBiase’s sons are professional wrestlers.
Yes I actually looked that up but damn that guy has ZERO mic talent unlike Million Dollar man.

Ted DeBiase Jr. made the Marine 2 for WWE films, he is a straight to video movie star :D
Seriously the WWE seems to have high regard for Jr. and keep pushing him in the company(in and out of the ring).
i watched power rangers the other day, turns out, i was an idiot as a child for ever liking that crap.

I'm old school hating Lesnar, I've been hating Lesnar since '08
I was hoping for a Rick Martell appearance.

I thought this was awesome.
This makes sense, mma and pro wrestling are cousins and all. More MMA fighters should do this, it gives the fighters more fans, some extra cash (without having to risk getting seriously hurt) and helps the sport of MMA through the cross-over appeal. I would love to see Sonnen, Mir, and Koshceck do some pro-wrestling.

Weird that they introduce him as BA Baracus, and not Rampage Jackson
I know they don’t want to hype up the UFC, but I’d imagine that quite a few wrestling fans know of him as Rampage way more than as the Mr. T lookalike they’re trying to pass him off as.
Also, it’s funny that Ted DiBiase Jr. has EXACTLY the same weak gimmick that his dad had. The Million Dollar Man barely made sense back in the day, and I don’t think he was that popular of a heel aside from just having a catchy nickname.
And good to know that wrasslin’ still has its racist overtones, with Rampage inevitably turning into the shirtless negro warrior by the end.

He had the mohawk too...
The appearance probably has a lot more to do with promoing the movie than anything else…
I thought that was weird too at first. But then I realized that they are just trying to promote the movie first and foremost (nothing wrong with that).

They kept referring to him as B.A. but Michael Cole slipped once and called him Rampage. :)

I have to say..
..that was a pretty good spine buster by Quinton.
I've always said...
that fake is incorrect term for pro wrestling. You cant fake gravity, when you hit the ground, there’s very little braking the wrestlers fall, even when there are accidents, shit happens, you cant fake that. I use staged, pre determined, choreographed, all of the above, but not “fake”.
This was bad...
but those old guys – Dusty Rhodes, Roddy Piper, Gene Okerland – are all still interesting on the mic. Roddy and Dusty are pretty funny even at their advanced ages. It may just be fond reflection on my childhood. Mute Rampage isn’t particularly compelling though.
Couple things
Rampage looks tiny compared to the WWE guys, and also it is amazing how much weight Rampage has put back on since his fight with Rashad,
looks like he had fun out there, I know he grew up loving wrestling.
I hope I can get a bunch of championships, like 15. " - Greg Oden
Thank gosh for the ending of this show
If you ever wanted to see what it would look like if pre-Anderson Silva Rich Franklin got jumped by an entire season’s worth of TUF’ers… then they went after Mike Goldberg and Joe Rogan… well, here’s the WWE equivalent.
