Satoshi Ishii was disqualified in an exhibition bout last night at X-1: Nations Collide in Honolulu, when he refused to stop punching Myles Tynanes at the end of the first round, even when the referee tried to pull him off.

Exactly my thoughts
Dude’s one of the biggest busts of the past few years.
Like being disappointed? Sweet! Follow @teddwelch on Twitter!
Sure some is his fault but the Media in Japan has a great deal of the blame also on there shoulders. Like they do with all thereJudo medal winners who get into mma they make them the next BIG thing. I actually think Ishii was starting to do the right thing finally buy getting out of Japan to train also starting the begging of his MMA career in smaller shows fighting against opponets who’s skill level is equal to his. No dout this is a set back but not all that BIG of one in my opinion.
Ishii is taking the right steps to improve and has a very bright future in the sport. But regarding this incident i would like to see the video before laying any judgement. It is very dissapointing to hear this taking place, but these types of incidents happen in a sport that is based around fighting, emotions will run high and sometimes out of control. I do not condone these actions but empatize and search for understanding.
Gus Johnson, is that you?
Dude. It's Anderson Silva.
If he gives a damn he will end Sonnen’s night by either sub or KO.

Uh... yeah... no.
Even if emotions “run high”, once you’ve won, there’s no reason to take it any further. That’s why the refs step in to protect the fighter’s health. Anyone that can’t abide by the rules and keep the fight during the bells, just needs the boot.
Keep sleepin' on me...
Sometimes these things happen in mma.. *Gus Johnson
Take ONE Karate class, if you're so into Karate...
Damn! I missed your comment!
I feel shame…

Sorry Ishii
Only Hendo gets cheered for late punches.
You wanna get away with that, you better do it against a foreigner that the locals don’t like. Apparently its fine then.

Well, the referee wasn’t trying to pry Henderson off of Bisping when Hendo planted that extra shot on his jaw.
That said, I haven’t seen video of the fight, and even if the situation is as bad as the referee makes it sound, I’m not ready to condemn Ishii just yet. He’s a young guy and while it seems like he made a dumb move last night, I think he’s taking a smart route with his career, fighting in these smaller shows in NZ and Hawaii before he competes in Japan again. He’s not the first high-profile Olympic convert to have a weird/crummy start to his MMA career, and he probably won’t be the last.

Bullshit
Hendo’s flying forearm shots on Bisping & Wand were completely clean. They might not have been necessary, but they were totally within the rules. As a matter of fact, he could have thrown a couple of more shots before the ref got there and it still would have been perfectly legal.
Ishii obviously did NOT stay within the rules.
*facepalm* Goddammit Ishii
Just because your debut went sour doesn’t mean you should fuck away off the rest of your career…
Judo is a joke in MMA
Just saying. This guy has no talent for MMA. Go back to Japan and do ad’s for a living.
Judo can be very potent for MMA...
but not by itself…much like most martial arts.

I think guys like Karo and others have proved
that judo works when it’s adapted properly. Just like BJJ you have to train without a gi.
List of guys who have trained heavily in judo
Karo, Manny, Akiyama, Stun Gun, Fedor, Jacare, Lombard, Hidehiko Yoshida, Yoshiyuki Yoshida, Kaz Nakamura, Sokoudjou, Kikuta
I’m sure I missed some, too.
A lot of BJJ guys actually train judo too for the takedowns.

^ This
There are tons of highly successful judo-based fighters. It might not be as common as wrestling or BJJ backgrounds, but that hardly means it is garbage.
A gentleman named Fedor Emelianenko agrees.

Brock was simply telling him to win his next one to get a completely unjustified Heavyweight Title shot.
So that you can prove it justifiable by winning...
And then not have people get over it ever…

I have trained with him in Vegas
And he has a tendency to get what we call “hot” which basically means he gets going and wants to keep putting the steam on until somebody gets mad.
