Regardless of the outcome

Lyman Good’s reign as champ is over.

This fight is going to be EPIC.

Btw I met Ben Askren @ the Fan Expo, hardly anyone else knew who he was :(

Is Lyman Good going to fight before this fall, the guy is going to go into his fight with Askren or Hornbuckle on an 15-18 month Layoff, that can’t be good.

I’m taking Askren in a fight that reminds people of Mo v Mousasi. Dominate wrestler controls the more well rounded fighter, but this will probably have a little more action.

Wow

You’re right, I didn’t realize he hasn’t fought since then. Why didn’t he get a fight while he was waiting? Lombard and Alvarez have fought.

Lyman Good has been injured, that is why he has fought while every other Bellator champ has

Maybe they couldn’t get a semi worthy opponent in his weight class.

by Polyhedron on Jun 5, 2010 12:42 AM EDT via mobile up reply actions

like the semi worthy Jay Silva?

Askren is going to be very difficult to beat.

i'm so pumped for this fight

huge test for Askren.Hornbuckle is far more well rounded, much more dangerous and more experienced. But Askren has the wrestling edge by a long shot. He’s got a fighting chance.

Me too

I’m more pumped for this than the winner vs Good.

Can I just say I love what Bellator is doing?

They’re putting on good shows with quality talent and even some elite talent.

They could use some more depth, but it’s okay and should get even better.

Everyone loves tournaments and it seems like Bellator is doing it the right way.

by Electro Boy on Jun 5, 2010 12:54 AM EDT up reply actions

I agree

The only fighter I’d heard of going into this season’s tournaments was Roger Huerta, but that really doesn’t matter because Bellator does a great job of introducing you to them. The tournament structure creates natural storylines and drama. There is no bracket so they can still make the best match up for that stage of the tournament. They’ve produced some of the best fights I’ve seen this year.

Have they made any announcements

As to when Season 1 champs fight Season 2 champs? Good talks about having a superfight during Season 3. I don’t think I can wait for the end of Season 3 for Good/Hornbuckle.

by PapaBumpants on Jun 5, 2010 10:45 AM EDT reply actions

I’m confused as to why Lyman didn’t get a Superfight like every other champion to keep him fresh. They could have put him against Karo or Daley if they wanted to pop some numbers.

Regardless, I’ve thought from the get-go that Hornbuckle would destroy everyone in his path, including Good, fight or not.

I think Good

was injured.

I'm the guy doing the interview.

Lyman had sustained an injury that put him on the sidelines for a while. He is back to full health and ready for Hornbuckle. This fight will most likely go down in Sept. and he will get a superfight afterwards.
