I was originally going to put in Lesnar in my parlay

Now I have second thoughts.

Instead it will be Sotiropoulos, Schaub, and Harris.

I’m going for a risky parlay in Lesnar, Bonnar, Leben

by sday420 on Jun 29, 2010 4:47 PM EDT reply actions

I will side with Carwin

Lesnar is a beast but the “what if” factor for Carwin is so high that I have to side with him. Cause if he lands those cinderblock hands on your face, its over johnny. We saw Brock get semi-dazed with a knee from Mir, so image what his fists can do.

by SeanyD on Jun 29, 2010 4:47 PM EDT reply actions

Based on personality I definitely want Carwin to win

But ring rust or not this is still BROCKLESNAR and he’s such a menacing guy.

With Sexyama out

This card is real, real thin outside of the main event. Still, Lesnar-Carwin is too big to miss.

Is Akyama not fighting?

To each his own. I’ve seen enough Bonnar fights to last me forever, Sexyama v. tired Leben seems like a mismatch, and I don’t know what Lytle v. Brown is supposed to settle (though I agree it should be a fun fight).

Of all the fights outside of the main event, Pellegrino v. Sotiropoulos is the only one that I find really compelling based on matchup and divisional relevance.

Tatum: I think he's a good man. I like him. I got nothing against him, but I'm definitely gonna make orphans of his children.

by Dave Strummer on Jun 29, 2010 5:18 PM EDT up reply actions

Yeah I feel ya, I'm a big Bonnar fan myself and I was pissed how the last fight ended.

I wouldn’t coun’t Leben out either, If Akiyama want’s a fight like he gave Belcher he will get knocked out. And I don’t know if he has the ability to control Leben for three rounds.

Honestly, it's totally academic...

cause I’m sure as hell not going to miss Lesnar-Carwin.

So that Silva could violently knock him out again? No way.

if leben wins he should fight wandy when he comes back

also would like to see leben/nate. I think Leben would get torn up but that would be a nice step-up after 3 consecutive wins. I mean…this is of course assuming he beats akiyama, which will be quite hard to do

by Body Triangle on Jun 30, 2010 9:46 AM EDT up reply actions

Maybe my memory is foggy and this happened on TUF

But I’ve wanted to see Quarry vs. Leben for at least 3 years now.

I'm taking it easy on this card no parlays

And no big bets on underdogs. I don’t like Schaub as a pick either, I don’t think he’s gonna walk through Chris. I put a small bet on Branch but that’s about as crazy as i’m gonna get on this card.

Ride the Tiger!

by doonerthesooner on Jun 29, 2010 5:10 PM EDT reply actions

Schaub could easily get outwrestled in that fight. Tuchschererererer is no pushover.

by MMABookworm on Jun 29, 2010 5:12 PM EDT up reply actions

I think so too.. I’m still picking Schaub for the win, I think he’ll manage to keep it standing up long enough to score a KO/TKO, but the betting odds seem a bit off. As you said Tuchscherer does have wrestling..

by Horselover Fat on Jun 29, 2010 6:03 PM EDT up reply actions

I'm going with the bet against strategy

Petruzelli and Petz should lose to most UFC level fighters.

" Tell me something Steve, How does a guy from Puerto Rico loose a ball in the Sun? "

Tuchscherer + Pellegrino are good underdog bets.

by MMABookworm on Jun 29, 2010 5:16 PM EDT reply actions

Yeah, I'm on the fence on Pellegrino.

I know it’s not always the best way yo look at it but I really doubt that Kurt could manhandle Joe Daddy like Soterwhatshisface.

" stepping on your dick"

Awesome, and I agree Leben could very well knock Akiyama out. Also the fact that he’s paying almost 2 to 1 doesn’t hurt.

At those odds for Leben

You definitely arent getting value. Even if you think he’s going to win, theres reasons why hes close to +200 elsewhere.

by Pooki on Jun 30, 2010 5:29 AM EDT reply actions

Look at that picture..

Shane Carwins hands are twice as big as Brock’s and Brock’s are twice as big as your average heavyweight. My $$ is on Sharwin.

by MrTechnique420 on Jun 30, 2010 3:38 PM EDT reply actions

Depth perception

Carwin is closer to the camera, so thats why his hands seem so much bigger. If you took a picture with Bj Penn and Anderson Silva, but had Bj closer to the camera than anderson… they’d look to be the same size.

by Pooki on Jun 30, 2010 8:34 PM EDT up reply actions

With news of George’s weight cut, and seeing him at weigh-ins looking like an extra from the set of dawn of the dead…I put a heavy play on Kurt, who was at +250. Also incorporated him into my parlay…hopefully this is the event I can make some bank on and start mattering. lol
