hopefully jorgensen/pickett is the #1 contender match. i don’t wanna see either of those guys get passed up to give it to urijah.

pettis/roller is gonna be a damn good fight as well.

Faber has gotten his last two title shots after one win, so there would be a precedent.

You know they will too.

Jorgensen deserves it in my book.

in terms of content, the WEC is the best promotion out there

they don’t always have the names, but the fights are always outstanding.

Faber-Mizugaki has FOTY written all over it. Think about the bantamweight future if Faber wins – we could get Torres next and then Cruz, if the champ gets by this defense. Division absolutely stacked!

regardless of who gets it, it’s nice to see some real depth developing in those weight classes.

by woooburn on Jun 23, 2010 1:06 PM EDT up reply actions

I hope he doesn't

he really doesn’t deserve one and if he wins and
Torres wins in September then I’d love to see Torres vs Faber for a title shot. Anyways the Pickett/Jorgensen winner deserves a title shot.

If Cruz wins, Faber defninately deserves it he’s already beaten Cruz and is a bid draw besides there are better match ups to make unless Benavidez wins.

yep. Imagine if Faber did beat Cruz again.

Faber vs Torres would be the really big superfight we’ve always dreamed about. (That’s if Torres starts winning and deserves another title shot)

This is an awesome card

I apologize for my never-ending assault on the English Language. I feel like Qui the promoter from Jade Empire...

I can't wait to see Pickett-Jorgensen

I dare you to watch the Demetrious Johnson/Pickett fight and not come away a huge fan of Pickett.

he combines that classic british brawler style, but combines it with great jiu-jitsu and, a rarity for english fighters, really good wrestling. Dude is pretty damn well rounded with a lot of different finishing capabilities

Njokuani is pretty low on that card…?

“Roller wants to come out and say that it was easy. I don’t think so. Let me be in the right state of mind and will see if its easy fag. Be a man and stand. We’re here to fight not make love.” -Anthony Njokuani after getting RNC’d in rd1 at WEC48.

He did later apologize, but that might be why.

That's my guess

along with the fact he looked absolutely helpless once Roller got on the ground

WEC needs to get on the road more often

Getting out of Vegas more would go a long ways toward building their brand.

Damn, the prelims look just as good as the main card. I hope they show a few of those.

As an unabashed Benavidez nuthugger

I am pretty damned excited to see him potentially take the world title.
