The UFC has signed Nova Uniao welterweight prospect Amilcar Alves (11-1) to face Mike Pierce (12-3, 2-1 UFC) in a prelim bout at UFC 118 in Boston, according to MMANews.com

Nova Uniao is doing big things these days
but this is a tough first fight for Alves.

In my opinion, Mike Pierce is one of the best WW prospects in the UFC. He gave Fitch all he could handle in there fight. Fitch struggled to take him down the entire fight and Pierce had Fitch really hurt in the 3rd round (I thought he was really close to pulling off the upset). Really tough fight for your first fight in the UFC.
