His glasses are too distracting...
He is trying to look young, hip and pretentious but he can’t pull them off.

Like I said earlier...
he seems very humble during this interview. He might of been a dick to the dude a year ago..

Dana gave him more than one chance
but fuck it, if he beats a few guys in the smaller orgs give him another chance in the big show.
He has the best no-gi judo I’ve ever seen in MMA.
I still don’t think that will be enough. You’ll never see Karo in the UFC again.

Do you know who he is, bro?
I joke, but I actually think both Karo and Nate were in the wrong in that little confrontation.
Nate came off worse than Karo in my mind.
Dana gave him 3 chances to get his act together. There was 2 panic attacks and one drug suspension. Thats more then enuff I don’t blame Dana/UFC at all for getting rid of him and not wanting him back.

Wow... Very surprising.
I was never a fan of Karo’s before but I gained some respect for him after that interview. He finally seems humbled. I wish him luck.

Same here.....
I’m not a Karo fan at all, but I don’t DISLIKE the guy either. Anyway, if he can string together 2 wins in lower orgs Dana should give him a shot. Pain killer addiction is a fucked up thing.
probably, and he wants to get in danas good graces

hope hes kicked his addictions
painkillers are a tough thing to quit, was on them for 2 weeks once and could feel where people could easily get addicted
We have a saying back home that if your coming on, COME ON!!!!
is that the new guy for cp?
the sites gone downhil since fowlkes left, and mmafanhouse has only gotten better
We have a saying back home that if your coming on, COME ON!!!!
Its the same sogn and dance he said on every radio statio and interview after the first so called panic attack. Like I said above the UFC gave him not one but 3 chances and he blew it every time. Sorry Karo no more Bro
I am of the opinion that one has to not just say it, but show it as well. It is unfortunate that Karo has these panic attacks and addiction to pain killers, but how can one really get a second chance when he already messed up his second chance? Prove it, don’t just say it, and Karo can fight in smaller organizations and get a string of wins as a way to prove that he deserves another chance. I hate to be harsh on Karo, and I don’t dislike him, but now is the time for him to prove to himself, MMA fans, and MMA promoters that he is a changed person/fighter.
I hope he’s got the panic attacks under control. It must suck to spend half your day hiding in one of these:

I'd give him another chance
if he proves he’s got his shit together. Look at Yvel, he bit a guy, poked Don Frye in the eyes and Grand Theft Auto’d a ref.
He’s only 27, what if he goes on a winning streak for three years without any fuck ups?
He seems humbled...
I hope that he is given another chance too.

he needs to go fight in small shows and prove he can show up and fight with a clear mind
he also looks like a 145er there

I’m all for people getting second chances in life, but Karo is insane if he thinks the UFC should be the one giving him the second chance right now. He screwed up several times and left them hanging a bunch of times. He needs to win some fights and show that he can be counted on before Zuffa even thinks about bringing him back.
100% agree
karo dug this hole hes in now hes gotta work his way back out
but the number of atheletes who have successfully battled their way back from career threatening addiction is sadly low, brett farve is the only one who comes to mind for me
i think we’ll see karo as a daryl strawberry type for mma, the absurdly talented fighter who wasted his prime with addictions
We have a saying back home that if your coming on, COME ON!!!!
Always supporting Karo
The man was suffering from panic attacks and an addiction to pain killers. If he can get his act back together, give the man a chance to regain his life. Karo vs Sanchez and Karo vs. Diaz are top 40 fights in MMA history
Good Luck Bro!
You have to do it for yourself more than the sport or Dana or the fans, but I’m glad you have all those things to help propel ya. Good luck.
God I want to see him fighting again.

When he was clean, he was one of the most exciting fighters to watch, decisions be damned.

Agreed. His fight with Diego Sanchez cemented my interest in this sport.

...
If he can prove that he’s clean and work his way back up through some smaller orgs i wouldn’t mind seeing him in Strikeforce or somewhere like that. He’s well and truly burnt his bridges with the UFC though so that’s not an option anymore. Good luck to the guy.
Did you even watch the video?
He said he just recently talked to Dana. I wouldn’t say he completely burnt the bridge but fucked it up pretty bad.
Not really sure what he said is going to endear him to Strikeforce either. If you are trying to get a job with them, don’t go Kim Jong Il on them if it doesn’t work out. Late replacements, late additions happen all the time. Now they aren’t going to go near him with a 10 foot pole.
I'm pretty sure
he said what he said because he doesn’t want to fight for Strikeforce.
opiates alone will help you cut weight I don’t know about anxiety. I thought that was his bullshit excuse for addiction I could be wrong but it’s hard believing anything an addict says.
did he go to rehab?
Why would UFC take him back otherwise? Even if he did, and he wins some fights, he should be forced to go through the WEC at 155 before he gets another shot at UFC.
by AgitationStation on Jun 15, 2010 2:55 AM EDT reply actions
Why?
It’s not like Karo puts on dull fights. As long as he goes through rehab and wins a couple fights, I think he will be invited back to the UFC. Dana might have said that he’s done with the UFC, but i’m pretty sure he wasn’t completely serious because Dana says that shit all the time, especially when he’s pissed off.
It was nice to see Karo starting to take responsibility for what has gone on in his life.
I hope it continues and he straightens himself out, regardless of whether or not he is every a force again in MMA, let alone the UFC.
Dude. It's Anderson Silva.
If he gives a damn he will end Sonnen’s night by either sub or KO.

By Monday morning Chael Sonnen will be pissing out of his neck.

karo vs diaz 2
Karo was a top 7 WW in the UFC. If he cannot get back into the UFC I hope he can sign with strikeforce. His fight with Diaz was awesome the first time. Problem is he would need a win or 2 to get a shot at Diaz because Diaz is the champ there and on a huge win streak of his own. I’d give it to Diaz this time but would love to see it!
Who knows what the UFC is thinking?
Alot of people here seem to say that Karo will never get back to the UFC or has burnt all his UFC bridges. He’s young, had REAL problems, and has now seemed to get his life back together. How can anyone say, “sorry Karo, you’ll never be back in the UFC”. There is absolutely no reason, at his age, that he can’t string together multiple victories, prove himself, and get back there. I don’t know either way, but the people making these blanket statements have no idea either way either. Give opinions instead of tryong to pass your thoughts off as opinions. No poster here truly knows what dana or any other promoter is thinking
I agree
I, nor anyone, have gotten any indication. I also said, later in the post, that at his age he still can prove himself.
Probably because Dana White said “Sorry Karo, you’ll never be back in the UFC.”
http://www.twitter.com/TB_Money
Really?
I don’t know you well(at all really), but I know you don’t believe everything DW says. If Karo goes on an impressive streak, keeps his act together and stays clean, I’m hard pressed to believe DW wouldn’t give him another shot. He’s an exciting fighter with a name and everyone loves a true comeback story.
man, people have problems. it’s easy to sit behind your keyboard and pretend like Karo’s the only person you know that’s had a problem with painkillers or whatever.
the guy fights professionally. period. i’m not saying cut him slack, but you don’t have to crucify him.
