Hope he will because Babalu / Mo would be a good fight...
and Sobral would have a good style to match up with Mo.
Dude. It's Anderson Silva.
If he gives a damn he will end Sonnen’s night by either sub or KO.

By Monday morning Chael Sonnen will be pissing out of his neck.

sounded like he would fight Mo, but that it wouldnt be on his list of people he would want to fight.
I kind of hope Lawler knocks him out though.
This whole catchweight fight to determine a #1 Contender idea seems stupid to me.

They should’ve made Shields fight Jacare on a Showtime card before Henderson. I know hindsight is 20/20, but Jacare probably would’ve out-grappled Shields and they wouldn’t have had a vacated title to fight over.

I completely agree...Unfortunately Miller had him beat if not for the bell...then shields would be without the belt.
and no fight after the title defense.
nah man that’s nuts, hendo vs shields guaruntees a ko of shields. it’s automatic.

Words cannot express how much I hate KJ Noons...
I think that I hate him and Anderson Silva about the same amount, but for complete different reasons.

I’m just guessing but, I think it’s cuz he only throws punches. No kicks, no takedowns, no clinch, no Jits, just punches.
Or he’s a huge Nick Diaz fan. (like me.)

This has to be the first inter-divisional #1 contender fight in MMA history.

I thought Noons was supposed to fight Crazy Horse? Or didn’t Crazy Horse go to jail? F it, it’s been a long day.
Wow
Babalu is the betting underdog against a blown up welterweight with poor wrestling and grappling?
But vicious KO power which has always been shown to be Babalu's kryptonite

How so?
Because of his losses to Chuck? Chuck was a legit LHW with big KO power for a LHW and probably the best takedown defense in history of MMA.
He’s also beaten Sokoudjou, Diabate, Shogun, and Maurice Smith.
I guess they’re counting on the blown up welterweight to land that one shot like he did against Manhoef.
I make Babalu a big favorite.

Totally agree.
Was suprised to see Babalu the odds maker underdog myself. If I was a betting man I’d put car, if not the house, on him for that fight.

He hasn't just been Ko'd by Chuck
He’s be KO’d by Chuck twice as well as Mousasi and also by Jason Lambert. Four clean KO’s

Outside of Lambert...
Chuck and Mousasi are much, much better strikers than Lawler, imho.

Not arguing with you there
Point is, Babalu has never been a very good striker, he’s been a good wrestler with good submissions. Kind of reminds me of Tito in that sense, if he can’t get you to the mat, he’s in trouble. Not hating on Babalu, he just seems out of his prime and not evolved enough to keep up with the top in the sport right now.
by dreamers_12345 on Jun 14, 2010 5:28 AM EDT up reply actions
You may be right...
but that makes this an interesting match up because for as un-evolved as Babalu may be as a grappler/BJJ guy, Lawler is every bit the same as a striker. Should be a fun throw-back fight then.

just noticed this now that coker is saying that it would be lawlor vs. jacare for 185 lb title should lawlor win… that seems odd seeing as how shields is champ, is coker pretty much giving up on the notion of re-signing shields?
