I’m without internet right now, so I’ve been using the library computers and can’t watch videos. That said, what does Dana White say about Ricardo Arona? I’m really curious, thanks.

Kurt Angle

I think Dana White made a valid point about Angle and the neck surgeries. I thought it was kind of silly the way the interviewers jumped all over him for it. I’d be willing to bet if Angle was ever serious about trying MMA, Dana White would sign him in a hearbeat

Angle is 41 years old already, the window for him to take MMA seriously closed years ago.

by who me on May 30, 2010 4:43 PM EDT up reply actions

And so is James Toney. Herschel Walker is even older.

Angle could still take MMA seriously if he ever chooses to do so. Whether he ever does or how successful he would be in MMA is another question altogether

He would bring in buys, thats enough for him to be on the main card of any UFC event

God I hope not.

Dude. It's Anderson Silva.
If he gives a damn he will end Sonnen’s night by either sub or KO.

Toney and Walker aren’t taking the sport that seriously. Toney is doing it because he can’t get any big boxing matches and Walker was only ever planning on fighting two or three times. Yes Angle may play around with it like those guys are but he’s too old and busted up to start taking MMA seriously.

by who me on May 30, 2010 11:24 PM EDT up reply actions

I don’t see Angle taking mma seriouslyat all or Wanting to fight top competition. If Angle gets into MMA it would only before a baot load of $ fighting against cans and thats all. I can see him easily Jumping on board with some new upstart company who wants attention and eyeballs and will feed him a cans and thorow tons of $ at him.

by Shocbomb on May 31, 2010 2:32 AM EDT up reply actions

If Angle did MMA it would be one or two fights for a boatload of money and then he would be done (much like Hershal Walker is doing, only Walker is donating his boatload of money). Of course it’s questionable if Angle’s body could even take training for a freakshow MMA bout at this point, it’s amazing that he is still able to wrestle.

by who me on May 31, 2010 2:50 AM EDT up reply actions

It amazing the man is still alive on how bad he is still addicted to hard core Opiate pain killers and booze according to his x wife Karen . I can’t belive his heart or other organs did not give out Yet or he did not OD if its true the amount of pain killers he takes still and booze he drinks each day.

Also who me you are toaly right. If a new org pops say the next Affliction, With tons of money tospend and wants attention Icould see Angle being there main event pf there first show or co main event. Put him up agasint come can or better yet real old MMA fighter who is totaly washed up like a Ken Shamrock, Gary Goodridge, Maurice Smith, etc and fans would would buy that show I am 100% certain of that.

by Shocbomb on May 31, 2010 10:19 AM EDT up reply actions

Angle vs Kimbo would be big (and really sad).

by who me on May 31, 2010 12:28 PM EDT up reply actions

Yes very sad but thats a fight I can totaly see happening

by Shocbomb on Jun 1, 2010 12:54 PM EDT up reply actions

Also, the point I think the interviewers were missing when Dana mentioned Kurt Angle was the fact that Angle is still able to do things that a guy with a broken neck shouldn’t be able to do, and he does so at a very intense level. This is why Tito could potentially come back and compete if he wants to.

Except the people Angle is "fighting"...

aren’t actually trying to hurt him. In MMA that would be very, very different.

You’re missing the entire point. Dana White brought up Angle because despite the fact he’s had neck surgery, he still is performing in a very physical form of entertainment and at an incredible level. That has nothing to do with how well he actually performs in MMA. That’s why Dana White said if Tito can pass the physicals after the surgery, he can still fight for the UFC.

Yep it was just a comparison of a guy who has had neck surgery and can still be active to Tito’s situation. It had nothing at all to do with Angle in MMA, it was just him saying that Angle has had the surgery multiple times and he is still active.

by who me on May 30, 2010 11:27 PM EDT up reply actions

Not really because in MMA no one is actually dropping you directly on your head like they do in pro wrestling. Yea they aren’t trying to hurt each other in pro wrestling but that doesn’t mean that it isn’t dangerous and very hard on the body, to to mention the fact that pro wresters do this several times a month where MMA fighters fight two or three times a year. Heck pro wrestling is way harder on a guys body that MMA is.

by who me on May 30, 2010 11:26 PM EDT up reply actions

The interviewer was Dave Meltzer who knows a thing or two about pro wrestling. :) I was there as well as MMA Weekly.

Stunning KO by Russow. Very impressive. I saw Russow put his fist up like “Touch gloves?” before the beginning of the fight and Todd Duffee was standing across the cage, bouncing up and down, shaking out his arms and just shook his head “NO” with a devilish look on his face like he was going to murder Russow. Don’t know why he didn’t try and finish
