“Hurry his birthday ta la la.”

“Damn it. the king, the king”

“It’s my birthday by the way, today, i’m looking pretty, big day, god damn it.”

How can anyone hate on this guy?

Strikeforce should hire his team. Really nicely put together.

The Reem’s videos have good production value. The guy behind the camera and the editor of the video do a decent job.

Bull.

Herb Dean is just as good and guys like Josh Rosenthal, Yves Lavigne, and Mario Yamasaki aren’t far off.

by Steve4192 on May 22, 2010 1:24 PM EDT up reply actions

Yves Lavigne has stoped too many fights prematurely in my opinion. That said reffing is a very tough job, I wouldn’t wanna’ do it.

Overeem is a very polarizing character

He seems smart, so incredibly confident, and he just has that “it” factor. I’ve really became a big fan of him lately. The documentaries are great.

Love these Docs...

Hope he keeps up with it… I have always been a fan of the Demo Man and it pained me about all the hate AO received prior to the Rogers fight, but i am very glad that people are warming up to AO b/c he truly is a great guy and the negativity he received was quite harsh and undeserved.

If Overeem keeps doing these..

he will have a huge fanbase, not to mention some great negotiating power when the UFC comes calling. All he needs to do is point to his YouTube views.

Most of the traffic is going straight to TheReem.com, which is hosted on Vimeo.

by HarmlessNinja on May 22, 2010 9:45 AM EDT up reply actions

Not true.

Some of the traffic is going through the vimeo site, but most of it is on youtube.

Episode 1 had 33K views on youtube and only 14K views on vimeo.
Episode 2 had 36K views on youtube and only 3K views on vimeo.
Episode 3 has 306 views on youtube and only 258 views on vimeo.

by Steve4192 on May 22, 2010 10:24 AM EDT up reply actions

Wow

Youtube caught up fast. Episode 3 is up to 15k on Youtube now.

by HarmlessNinja on May 24, 2010 12:07 AM EDT up reply actions

To be fair, it is still early for episode 3.

Episode 2 had 35,594 views and episode 1 had 32,740 views.

That said, those viewership numbers are still small potatoes. Kimbo Slice’s UFC 113 open workout drew 300K+ views. Joe Rogan versus ppilled bag of icve drew 165K+ viewers. Dana White video blogs regularly draw 100K+ viewers. Joe Stevenson’s Australia blog drew 58K+ viewers. Todd Duffee’s “a day in the life” video got 40K+ views.

Net, in the grand scheme of things, “the REEM” is a step below guys like Stevenson & Duffee in terms of Youtube viewership, and nowhere near the kind of viewership that would give him leverage in contract negotiations. He’d need to draw millions and millions of views to gain that kind of leverage. The only guy in MMA who has those kind of Youtube numbers is Kimbo.

Loving these documentaries. They are certainly a lot better than many of the boring vid blogs that the ufc fighters are all coming out with nowadays.

by filipinoheat on May 22, 2010 6:31 AM EDT reply actions

How so?

Aside from being in black & white, it is pretty much like any other fighter blog. It shows him training, shows him chilling backstage before the fight, shows him doing media interviews, etc. That’s pretty much standard fare for fighter blogs.

by Steve4192 on May 22, 2010 10:29 AM EDT up reply actions

Production values are GREAT!

Best personal videos by far from a fighter.

Mauro Ranallo is one of the most annoying people in MMA, can’t believe he’s still taking a living from the sport.

I was already a fan of Overeem but these make me like him even more.

And I’m glad I’m not the only that can’t stand Mauro. Did he have a fro in that video?

I love the way Overeem says ’goddammit".

Strikeforce & Moosin beware!

“The Reem” documentary is back and has single-handedly stole the thunder from last nights MMA Events!

110% certain that the skinny, bearded nerd in the beginning is on BE.

I always had the notion, but was sure when he mentioned Hari.

Personally, I had him pegged as a Shertard.
