Nice to see the old adage of “two friends can’t fight each other” being laid to waste by two people who are obviously nice to each other.

Ahhh...the old "fatten the competition up before gametime" strategy
Most recently employed by Goldberg on Julie Gaffney in D3.

the chick on the left looks like the SUPER nerdy nice girl at school
thats so funny, who would’ve thought she can whoop your ass???
hahaha i’m assuming she’s a jits chick, can’t see her as a bad ass striker.
Well the weird thing about me is that I grew up fighting and one of my friends introduced me to MMA and I was like, 'Whoa, you mean I can beat up white dudes and not go to jail?"

Her clinch work is pretty good too.
Vicious knees.

I'm pumped for this fight
And why? Because they’re two of the Top-15 female fighters in the world!
Note to promoters: You don’t need to create hatred, sometimes pitting elite talent against each other is more than enough to get eyes on your product.
It’s kinda scary, in a way, to think that they’re so nice to one another – and come fight time, they’ll get in there and try to beat seven flavors of crap out of one another.

Seven 'flavors' of crap?
You eat it?

Tara LaRosa on the UG:
Does it feel weird to be budy/budy with someone you plan to smash tommorow?
Not really. The sport is what brought us together as friends in the first place. What we go though, from training, to competeing, and everything in between like injuries, politics, mental blocks, fears, goals, achievements, etc. are things that only a very small handful of people in the world can understand and share. So there are a few of us that share some pretty close bonds.
MMA is a sport, just like any other, in the respect that I am going to try and win within the confines of the rules, with the skills that I have acquired thus far. I’ve never needed to be angry, pumped up, or anything to perform. It’s something I do for myself. Once I step through those ropes, or when that cage door closes, I am alone. No more coaches, training partners, friends, family, sponsers, managers… my accountability is only to myself. I have to accept what I have and have not done in preparation, whether or not I can pull it together in there, is all on me.
I think that most of us feel this way. The ones that just want attention or do it for other reasons, don’t last very long, and generally can’t pull off a successful career… and if they do eek by, they’re usually as transparent as plastic wrap. That goes for the men as well. You either have it… or you don’t. …and ya gotta be a little messed up mentally to put yourself through what it takes to rise to the upper tier of this sport.
My only comfortable place is in the gym, among my peers, …the people who understand.
-Tara LaRosa
So much respect and admiration for BOTH of these women.
It’s an absolute treat to be able to watch this fight – especially since they’ll be fighting at the appropriate weight instead of having them meet at 145 or something.
