Don't blame a fighter with better wrestling skills for being the boring fighter

Don't blame a fighter with superior takes downs for using this skill in a Mixed Martial Arts fight.  MMA is not about being the most entertaining fighter, MMA is sport about seeing who the better fighter is by allowing the fighters to use what ever skills they have learned from what ever MMA discipline that is out there with-in the rules of MMA. Lets instead blame the other fighter not being able to stop the wrestler.   If a fighter can not stop a take down in MMA these days or be able to have a strong guard then you have no business being in MMA. I do not agree with calling the fighters that use these skills boring.

Fights like King Mo controlling and beating up a over hyped Mousais are very entertaining and a great show of some true world level wrestling ability can be just as entertaining as a good boxing match on there feat. Gsp showed some great take downs in is fight agianst hardy and nearly subbed him twice. The wrestling and bjj in that match was pretty amazing. Why are fans in japan and the middle east better educated about the ground game than North American fans.

Changing reffing or judging the fight would be hard to do while keeing the same fredome of letting the fighters figuring out the fight as . Rewarding the bottom guy with a stand up is not really fair for the top guy. Unless the guy is doing nothing on top besides holding on to the top guy the fight should not be stopped. If he is in control of the bottom guy and landing something, not matter how small you can not really stop him from attack. IF these punches are so weak then why doesn't the bottom guy fight back with a submission or an escape. How would you be able to determinant what punches are hurtful and what punches are fake punches. When Jake shields fought Dan Henderson he dominated with position and punching him no matter how weak they look. Dan got mounted 4 times and did nothing to get up. Yes shields look to be throwing weak punches but he dominated an Olympic level wrestler on the ground. If Dan wanted to win the he should have stopped the take down. This is not Shields fault and he was advance position the whole time.

Now for some changes that I think would make fights more entertaining and reward wrestling would be knees to a downed opponent. If you look back to old fights where knees where allowed they made wrestling more dangerous.  If shields was allowed to throw Knees on the ground to the head. He could get some more power and help to finish the fight. This would also motivate other wrestlers to pass guard and get in a more dominate position with the rule change.
