This better get a UFC Primetime
The super reclusive Brock Lesnar and every day man Shane Carwin.
I’d love it.

Yeah if the fighters would allow it it could be very interesting.
by Polyhedron on May 18, 2010 7:52 PM EDT via mobile up reply actions
they won't need a primetime show to sell this card though,
so while I also hope to see more details of how Brock prepares, I don’t think they’ll do it.
by Anton Tabuena on May 18, 2010 9:36 PM EDT up reply actions
I think they can only benefit from it
There will be enough hype about the fight as you said, but even the casuals will be able to say “hey, ever heard of this brock lesnar guy? Well watch this show on Spike” which will hopefully lead to more PPV buys.
Plus… Brock is quality TV

i think they might do it just because of that, brock is quality tv. they might do a primetime show just to make money off the ads from the primetime even if it doesnt sell 1 extra ppv. people want to see brock, he is all the best parts of shamrock vs ortiz just by himself.
I'm old school hating Lesnar, I've been hating Lesnar since '08
F’n awesome that Lytle/Brown made the main card. They might not be contenders, but that fight is going to be a grade A war.

Lytle takes him down and subs him fast, just like he did in their first fight.

Can’t wait to see this on the PPV broadcast, because Schaub is going to rib Chris apart.
Booo.

Kendall Grove should not be on the main card.

Well....K-Sos should.

neither of them should.

They're both fun to watch.
Although I thought this fight would be on Spike with Lytle/Brown.

Yes me too, but at least grove has won recently (1-1 in his last two fights i think and 3-2 in his last 5). Bonnar hasnt won in ages and K-Sos last win was due to cut caused by an illegal move.
I'm with you
Bonnar has got to have pics of Dana White with a goat and a midget in a full on three way.

Is it just me......
or does Sy-however you spell it vs. Bonnar NOT main card worthy????
and while Sot vs Kurt should be a main card fight skill wise, i just don’t really care about either guy enough to watch it. Kurt’s cool n all, but c’mon…..
kinda a weak card compared to 117 or 115, at least on paper…..
Sot vs Kurt has huge implications in the LW division. Winner could be next in line after Kenny-Maynard winner for title shot.
by IWillPartyHard on May 18, 2010 8:44 PM EDT up reply actions
Normally it wouldn't be main card worthy
But the first fight was so damn good I think they guarantee entertainment.
"It's fourth and fifteen and you're looking at a full-court press." - Lt. Frank Drebin, Police Squad
Could have been better.
Should have had Silva Vs GSP.
I reaaaaaaaaaallly don’t care about Stephan Bonnar at this point.
Prelims are kind of boring as well. Kendall Grove, again? Already?
I do.
I just get sick of the TUF rejects and boring fighters in the UFC but people eat it up cuz it’s the UFC.
114 is pretty Meh, and 115…..
Gonna be a long summer is all.

Huh?
Lesnar vs Carwin and Silva vs GSP? They made it to 200 already?

It’s looking not bad but I just wish there was one more great fight on the main card…Don’t get me wrong, it’s looking good considering the money they need to pay the Main and Co-Event guys but it still feels like it’s missing one last name fight. Anyways…still pumped to have tickets for this :)
Lesnar makes millions everytime he fights.
Wand makes pretty good money also.
by snakecharmer1340 on May 18, 2010 10:30 PM EDT up reply actions
I know, that’s my point. It’s a pretty nice card considering how much they have to pay those guys. I still wish there was one more big name fight on the main card instead of something like Sos vs Bonnar.
haha. I was agreeing with also. They have my money though.
by snakecharmer1340 on May 18, 2010 10:42 PM EDT up reply actions
les/car, wand\sexy and sot/pel are all interesting fights but lytle-brown? maybe if it turns out to be a slugfest but don’t care that much for the guys. bon/sos cudnt care less about. wish there wos marquardt/sakara or nelson/mir to replace that fight then it wud be the best card of the year on paper.
Mir, Nightmare , Axe Murderer , Bones
I wish they could have moved the Marquardt vs Palhares fight to this card or maybe Fitch vs Alves or any of the main card fights from 117, for that matter. That card looks like it’ll be stacked.
Frank should not be allowed on this card. Knowing him he will probably run through the octagon during the intros with a rainbow jockstrap on his head Then steal Bruce Buffer’s mic and do a Buffer 720 while proclaiming himself the real uncrowned champion just to leech a few more dollars and a little more heat off of Brock.

Good Fights overall, Although the Storolopulus vs Pellegrino could be a big snooze fest, Since there both great grapplers and may nuetralize eachother.
by Ghost Face Killer on May 19, 2010 12:28 AM EDT reply actions
It could be, but both have shown that they are very active on the ground. I am just glad to see Sotiropolous on the main card of a huge event like this.
by chrisbboy82 on May 19, 2010 12:51 AM EDT up reply actions
How do you figure?
Kurt’s wrestling is much better than Sot’s, and they are both BJJ Black Belts. Their best common grappling opponent was Marcelo, who defeated both by Sub in ADCC 2007. Both also have a similar percentage of wins coming by way of Submission.
by Kung-Fu Joe on May 19, 2010 9:23 AM EDT via mobile up reply actions
This is actually the fight I'm most amped for on this card.
IMO, Sotiropoulos is the most underrated fighter in the UFC, and it’ll be nice to see him tested against someone who can roll.

I think Sot will try to keep it standing and I think he will win...
Interesting thought though… If he does intend to keep it standing, does he wear the ankle brace / knee brace / long short combo?
