Exactly what I was going to say.

And these cards look like Bitetti Combat cards moved down under.

by BJJDenver on May 17, 2010 11:00 AM EDT up reply actions

They are Bitetti cards down under

Impact FC is owned by the guy who used to promote Bitetti Combat

by Scott Haber on May 17, 2010 11:13 AM EDT up reply actions

There it is. Thanks!

by BJJDenver on May 17, 2010 12:10 PM EDT up reply actions

Are there two Jeff Monson’s or is he really fighting 8 days later?

by DayGeaux on May 17, 2010 10:58 AM EDT reply actions

Monson fought on three consecutive weekends

last spring:

Win – Roy Nelson – Decision (Unanimous) – SRP – March Badness 3/21/2009
Win – Sergei Maslobojev – Submission (North-South Choke) – CW – Decade 3/29/2009
Win – Sergei Kharitonov – Submission (North-South Choke) – Dream 8 4/5/2009

by Scott Haber on May 17, 2010 11:07 AM EDT up reply actions

Fought and should have lost to Nelson.

Shogun should have won the first time he fought Machida. Point is, who cares?

by Taua on May 17, 2010 1:00 PM EDT up reply actions

quite low

but Sergei Kharitonov, although less active in recent years, had a pretty damn good PRIDE run and is still pretty legit

by Stillberry on May 17, 2010 1:42 PM EDT up reply actions

Is there a July 3rd card as well with Paul Daley? 3 events in 3 weeks… craziness.

by Nick Thomas on May 17, 2010 10:58 AM EDT reply actions

LOL at Filho making it to 2 fights in 2 weeks, even if they are in the same damn place.

this is washed up, roidhead, headcase central. Monson and Kang are the only somewhat reliable guys on this thing.

and Mike Goldberg wishes he could commentate on the July 10th card just so he could say Keith “The Dean of Mean” Johnson. if you don’t get that reference, there’s no hope for you

by Stillberry on May 17, 2010 10:59 AM EDT reply actions

maybe one is 2010 and one is 2011???

I would give Filho a 50/50 chance of fighting twice in 2 years, lol.

by BJJDenver on May 17, 2010 11:01 AM EDT up reply actions

that might be worse. who knows what sort of new problems could manifest in a years time

by Stillberry on May 17, 2010 11:03 AM EDT up reply actions

Well, Bellator did not send him his paperwork

because he was too strong. Maybe Paulo is able to fight 3times in 3 weeks.

Honestly, it sounds like Bellator may have dropped the ball with the administrative end of that deal… although Filho’s reasoning is absurd.

Use all ten points.

YUS, I get confused whenever I see people saying comcast doesn’t have HDnet

Damn. Monson, Filho, Barnett, Daley, Rizzo, Rodriguez, Rua, Newton, Parisyan, Shamrock, Sokoudjou, Kang….

Either this promoter is spending LOTS of money, or he is smart and getting these former contenders right at the perfect time. About a year ago, to get Parisyan, Filho, Daley and Barnett alone, it would have cost some serious cash. But now that they have all had some type of meltdown, they must be taking a significant pay cut.

You know MMA has come of age...

..when they launch a seniors tour.

What next? Fantasy camp?

this is actually pretty damn awesome

thank god i get hdnet

but this many names in the mma world dont come cheap its prob not a very financailly smart move for impact fc but honestly i dont even remotely care as long as the fights happen

We have a saying back home that if your coming on, COME ON!!!!

I wonder what Paulo Filho’s excuses will be for not fighting at these three events.

by Taua on May 17, 2010 1:05 PM EDT reply actions

Too strong.

by Ozzz on May 19, 2010 12:31 PM EDT up reply actions

i think theres a chance Paulo will make it to his 2 squash matches then dip out before getting his ass handed to him by Kang

by Stillberry on May 17, 2010 1:44 PM EDT up reply actions

Totally… I wish it was possible to bet on whether these fights happen. Bookmakers might actually be able to take bets on Filho.

by Nyfeh on May 17, 2010 2:41 PM EDT up reply actions

Some good fights there

Outside of the top few guys in Strikeforce, these cards are as good as anything outside the UFC.

by LucasM on May 17, 2010 2:17 PM EDT reply actions

This is weird.

I feel like this guy is putting on UFC 28, 29 and 30.
