Not sure about anyone else
But I’ll be rooting for Ryan Thomas after their last fight.
Blackout612- "Wuts teh UFC?"
Ubernoober- "It like two guy who just stand and swing for fence and try to knock each other shit out it awesome"
It is kind of fortunate for Askren though
All he has to do to reach the final is beat the same guy twice. Say what you will about the stoppage of the last fight, but Askren definitely looked to be the better fighter. Now that’s not to say that Thomas can’t win, just that Askren had the least interesting tournament run in the history of brackets.

You might need to re-watch the first fight again, that was an even fight and early on Thomas had a chance to finish Askren. I see Thomas learning from the mistake he made in that fight and finishing Askren this time when he gets him in trouble they just better make sure they have a competent ref this time around.

I got interviews with both Ben Askren and Ryan Thomas. Unfortunately, I forgot to even touch on the first fight they had together when I talked to Ben. Check em out:

Hornbuckle is a jiu-jitsu guy who’s developed well-roundedness, and happens to have one highlight reel headkick KO. most of his wins are mountTKO’s and submissions. he’s not flashy, his excitment comes from crisp finishes. 9subs, 10tko. He’s also a very tall (6’2), rangy WW who cuts down a bit. He is probably the best WW prospect out there right now.
Zaromskis is a pretty one-dimensional Kickboxer with OK takedown defense who relies on flashy, low percentage kicks and knees, he’s just so damn good at ‘em that they’re not as low percentage for him as most. He doesn’t have any submission wins. He’s barely 5’8 and would def need to move down to LW if he wanted to succeed in the States.
They have completely different styles, don’t get it twisted just because Hornbuckle’s most-seen highlight is his one headkick.
Very true. But when I said he reminds me of Zaromskis, I was talking about the way I think their careers will go and the hype they’ve received, not their fighting styles.

fair enough
it remains to be seen for either (although Zaromskis did get toasted by Diaz, but one try doesn’t mean the end) but i think Hornbuckle will fare better at the higher levels. I think he has the skills to deal with all different types of fighters, whereas Zaromskis has a pretty apparent possible kryptonite
