Quote of the Day: Din Thomas - "Somebody’s Going to Get Embarrassed"

"....and it ain't going to be me."
"I’m just glad all I have to do is show up and fight," Thomas said. "I couldn’t imagine the position they’re in. They’re taking a big risk on this card not only with the fight I’m in, but they have some other high-level guys on this card. They’re putting their nuts on the line. They get one shot at this for the whole card and then the main event. I’m actually honored that they put me in a position to where they put everything on the line based on the card and I’m headlining it."
"I know it’s a pay-per-view event and I’m excited about it. I do understand the magnitude of the event. I like pressure. I perform better under pressure. As long as I put it behind me and not think about it too much, no pun intended I’m going to shine."
-- Din Thomas talks about his upcoming fight against Ricardo Mayorga.

WAR MAYORGA
Energy is felt once the cards are dealt
With the impact of roundhouse kicks from black belts
that attack, the mic-fones like cyclones or typhoon
I represent from midnight to high noon
Right...
Only thing he WARs on anymore is the Circle K clerk for running out of Parliament lights (hes been training after all).

Too bad the fight isn't happening...
I was gonna enjoy that little douche getting his head caved in/arm broken/choked out.
Titan is hard not to cheer for Mayorga in this one! Everything is stacked against him, i can’t remember anyone making their MMA debut at this level. It will be tough for him, but then i have visions of him hitting Thomas with 4 ounce gloves…..
It’s easy to cheer against Mayorga actually. He’s kind of a dick. Also there has been plenty of people who’ve made their debuts into MMA at even higher levels so it’s not like he’s taking some historic kind of challenge.

I can name two...
Ray Mercer vs. Tim Sylvia
King Mo vs. Travis Wiuff
Actually it was...
The fight against Kimbo was an amateur fight.
Dude, there's much better.
Pawel fucking Nastula. He drew Minotauro and Aleks in his first two fights.
"Someone is WRONG on the internet. What do you want me to do? LEAVE? Then they'll keep being wrong!"
-Randall Munroe
I'm sure there are a lot more
The two I named where the most recent I could think of. It was just to show that more people have debuted facing legit opposition.
+1
Mayorga is a dick. Not just one who does it to be funny/entertaining a la Paul Daley, but a legitimate tool of epic proportions. He’s also a fatty who may be riding this Shine Fights card in hopes of Don King filing an injunction, getting him out of the fight with Din, and hooking him up with a boxing match (though it looks like he’ll be fighting at this point).
There is no denying Mayorga has knockout power, but I’m still hoping Din manages to secure an arm or shoulder lock, possibly cranking it to the point of injury.
I really didnt like Mayorga before.
And now I really want to see him humbled. I think this is a metaphor. A metaphor for boxing, Don King and the whole notion that boxers are the toughest. Din, do us a favor, shut this guy up. Then, ruin his marketability to box again, taint the image of DKP and make the boxing press and apologists eat a big shit sandwich. XOXOXO

I have a real bad feeling Thomas is getting cought quick.
Mauricio "Shogun" Rua: UFC LHW CHAMP! Justice is served, 2-0 against Machida!
Mike Goldberg: "You know Joe, When Matt and his brother Mark Hughes were growing up, they would pound each other behind the barn."
The thing is if Thomas blanks out and stands with Mayorga, or Mayorga KOs Thomas before he can shoot for a takedown in the first 5 seconds of the fight it means nothing. It’s an MMA match and unless Mayorga is stuffing takedowns or scrambling back to his feet he’s not proving anything we already know. That pro boxers are better strikers with their hands. If Thomas wins its expected because he will utilize his MMA skills. He’s not proving, and smartly so, that he can stand with a boxer of Mayorga’s caliber.
The more you drive, the less intelligent you are.
What time does this even start?

sounds like it isn’t at this point, at least the din/mayorga fight

After watching the video of Mayorga smoking in the training room...
I was disgusted by his arrogance and disrespect. Din better teach him about respect real quick like or I will be disappointed.
Day-man! Fighter of the Night-man! Champion of the sun. You're a master of Karate and friendship for everyone!
"Charlie"
I go for Mayorga
Only because i f he wins, it may get more boxing stars to crossover.

Somebody is embarrassed. It just isn’t Din or Mayorga.
