Jon Madsen "Spots Holes" in Training Partner Brock Lesnar's Game

Brock Lesnar sparring partner Jon Madsen beat Justin Wren at the TUF 10 Season Finale and now he gets to face Mostapha Al-Turk. Judging by what he's telling The Daily Star (UK), it should be an easy fight for the very confident Madsen:

"It's hard to say what I'll do in this fight.

"In all honesty, there's nothing to study on this guy. Even if I had to pick his strengths and weaknesses, I can't.

"I think he's a mediocre-level fighter who is average at everything. Anyway, I don't do game plans - I just go in and fight."

But he doesn't stop there, according to this intriguing paragraph, he's got his sights set on much bigger prey than Al-Turk:

Since then, Madsen has been training with world heavyweight title holder Brock Lesnar and believes that being so close to him has helped him spot some holes in the champ's game.

Since there's no direct quote to this effect attributed to Madsen, I suspect there's an element of the Star putting words in his mouth, but still one doubts that Brock Lesnar will be amused to hear this.

Perhaps Thomas Rios of Sherdog can offer a more balanced assessment of Madsen's prospects in this fight and in the UFC heavyweight division:

Al-Turk could make Madsen look very bad if he gets top control, but Madsen isn't going to let that happen and he'll be smart enough to avoid a slopfest on the feet. No one is going to bank on Madsen becoming the next heavyweight star, but he'll at least earn his spot as one of the division's resident gatekeepers.
