Butterbean Talks Moosin: God of Martial Arts - Mariusz Pudzianowski vs. Tim Sylvia
"There are not many guys big enough that can just grab Sylvia pick him up and slam him. Pudzianowski is the one that can do it. He can just manhandle him like a little girl. But you know what, Sylvia's got the tools to defend himself if he doesn’t get intimated. Pudzianowski is very intimidating."

- Marius Pudzianowski vs. Tim Sylvia
- Mu Bae Choi vs. Travis Wiuff

- Yves Edwards vs. Mike Campbell

I’d love to see Yves Edwards make another run in a bigger organization. I love that guy.
Your style's like garbage cans meant to be taken out on a weekly basis
Ever since your first record you've been in a state of suspended animation
You look like Snuffleuffagus and Australopithecus
Me cray, you abacus
good point
what was he like 275 in his last fight?
Looks like Japan maybe calling soon, Minowaman will destroy him.
Wait...
Who’s “in shape” guy in the middle of the picture? Never seen him before. Must be new to the sport
Tim looks rad in this picture.

What? he was 275 for his last fight. Thats only a cut of ten pounds. Bj Penn cuts about that much weight.
It was after he already made the cut, I’ll find the source but I think he walks around over 300lbs 0.o
Why would he make the cut to 275? That was the weight limit to where he fought? brock also walks around over or around 300 as well…
I think he used to. His World Strongest Man weight is way different than what his new fighting weight is. He was reported to have slimmed down.
This may not be accurate but his tournament days I rememeber him being 295. So perhaps his walk around weight was around 315 then and can still be around 300 now.
He did lose alot of muscle to compete last time and I assume he will be toning down the over muscled look he has had.
Regardless 265 should not be an issue.
I don’t think there was a weight limit in his last fight, I think he just weighed 275. Not out of the question since he probably completely changed his workout regime etc for mma as opposed to WSM

I think this is a great matchup. I have been waiting for Marius to fight Tim actually I always thought they were a good matchup considering Tim’s fall off the map.
Hopefully Tim is in shape and we get to see a decent version of Slyvia to better gauge Marius. Time will only tell.
I don’t see this as good match making. In fact in my eyes this is the definition of a freakshow match.
so don’t watch it if it’s distasteful to you. it’s not like these guys have the most awesome talent to choose from, they have an old man hockey player fighting an albino bowling ball. but personally, i’ve always liked watching Mariusz dominate strong man competitions, and i don’t like what’s left of Sylvia, so hopefully Mariusz takes care of whats left.
I won’t. I never claimed I was going to, just responding to someone who thought this was good matchmaking.

Well you do have a guy with 1 fight fighting a 2 time UFC champ 2 fights removed from the top 5 rankings and fighting the #1 HW in the world…
by xbuckeyex05 on Apr 3, 2010 4:46 PM EDT via mobile up reply actions
yea the guy also happens to be the worlds strongest man.. Lol. If thats not enough to get you a fight with someone I dont know what is..
Being the worlds strongest man doesn’t make you a good prospect, it just makes you strong. I haven’t seen anything from Pudz to male me think he’s goin to me a great fighter, or even a good fighter. Is there interest in him? Sure, but it’s the same kind of interest there would be in seeing Lebron James be a pro fighter.
by Worldisart on Apr 3, 2010 5:58 PM EDT via mobile up reply actions
And whats wrong with that? MMA doesnt work like other sports. Especially outside of the UFC.
I think if Lebron was a fighter people would be excited as well.
What better way to test Marius then put him against someone like Tim. Tim has fallen off the map.
Being strong used to be a huge qualification back in the day especially HW>
It’s not back in the day anymore. Listen if you want see it go nuts, that’s up to you, I just don’t like being sold that Pudz is some kind of high end prospect when there is no evidence to support that
by Worldisart on Apr 3, 2010 6:33 PM EDT via mobile up reply actions
perhaps in the ufc you are right but outside the ufc in the HW division it is pretty much the same now as it was back in the day….
How many more high end HW prospects are there? I wouldn’t consider Carwin , Cain , JDS, or Rogers prospects anymore I believe they are legit fighters at this point now. HW is still the wild west to me,.
Strength is a huge factors in fights. Getting someone who is claimed to have the most strength in the world is good enough for me regardless of skill or what not.
We don't know that.
Being a good wrestler makes youa good prospect, even if you have no MMA experience. Being a world-class strength athlete (and let’s be honest, Pudz is one of the greatest strength-athletes ever) tells us that he has a tremendous work ethic and natural genetic gifts.
I like using semi-colons; they make me feel smart.
Who was that guy on here that was Sylvia’s buddy? I’d like to hear what his camp thinks about this match-up.

ANance was the guy I believe, pardon me if I’m wrong.

I just want to go on record that I told Tim that he should not fight him. It’s another lose/lose fight. Tim has been training atleast twice a day, we shall see if can avoid the bull rush.

You’re a good friend if you’re willing to shoot straight with him. I really hope Tim has his stuff together, he seems like a genuinely nice guy, although bad management decision are killing him.

I try but...
Tim just wants to fight. Not for just the money, he wants to be back in a big organization.

I know he is very light for Mariusz
but he has 10 times more experience (at least KSW officials told this on press conference)
on the same card Mamed Khalidov will be fighting DEEP fighter Ryuta Sakurai (MMA 20-15-5)

Is there an age requirement?
My friend and I are both 16, live about half an hour from Worcester and are considering getting tickets. Will they let us in?

I just noticed they used a UFC photo for Tim. UFC logo on the gloves and everything.I wonder if Dana and Co. will say something to them.

Hopefully Dana will contact them to make some UFC posters, this thing is ten times better than some of the crap they’ve been putting out lately.

If you had informed me of this 5 years ago (and told me that I agreed with the ’Bean), I would have laughed right in your face.

LB’s fight will draw a ton of local interest. He used to be an amazing enforcer back in his Bruin days and is a big radio personality here now.
Youtube him. He was a bad mofo.

I agree with Butterbean
I have to agree with the guy. This is a pretty great card. Much better than anything Strikeforce has produced.
