PrintCarwin knows how it feels to be ranked by MMA Journalists and bloggers, so he decides to turn things around by creating his own rankings for the people who cover the sport. Here is Shane Carwin's top 10 MMA Bloggers, which includes two writers under the SBNation umbrella:

The guy is sharp as a tack and understands (to the fullest) his place in the MMA world. Alot of people can’t stand him – I’m one of them – but we all realize his genius.

and I don’t know a lot of the people Carwin listed. He reads many more MMA sites than I do…
Can I still be hardcore and not spend 6 hours a day combing every MMA blog out there?
No. Oh wait… I only read BE so I have no clue who any of the people on the list are, except Kid Nate.

Lets be clear this list is not the be al and end all. Did Kevin Iole score points for having breakfast with my wife and I? Yes he did, I might have put him number one but I am not in tune with everything he writes. The photogs I should have just left off since I cannot name 10.
I can tell you they all have it tough because one thing doing this ranking has showed me is that you can not please everyone.

Stephen Albanese is by far the best photographer
He doesn’t do a lot of MMA stuff but when he does he’s phenomenal.

Sure, he’s had that great run in the Japanese blogosphere, but he’s done nothing in North America, and he sure as shit didn’t do anything except outblog chumps and cans since 2008 in lopsided freakshows. Subo was a legitimate top 10 blog member back when he was commentating at BE. He could piss off Ghandi with a well placed snide comment. And what happened? Kid sent him packing to Fightlinker were he’s become the shell he is today.
mmalogic, MMASuPreMaCy, the original smoogy (before there was drug testing). All have been beat down by Kid. And name another blogger that can take down a heavyweight like the UFC with a well placed “Is the UFC Dying?” article and then go down a weight class and throw body shots with a “Has Strikeforce Sold it’s Soul to the Devil (M-1)?”. No one else with that kind of versatility in the game.
You are entitled to your own opinion, but you are not entitled to your own facts. And the fact is Kid Nate is underrated at #8. Put that in your pipe and smoke it.

It's about time KN got some respect.
He was blogging when it wasn’t even sanctioned in most states. He even gave his blog a name that haunts it to this day. However, Nate doesn’t care because the man’s a purest. I heard he blogs in a gi (with Aoki pants underneath, of course). KN was blogging when blogging wasn’t cool. He’s shepherded MMA blogging through the dark ages and into the light. Yes, he’s brash. He may use some unsavory language at times, but he has passion. Nate knows that one has to rule the blogging world with an iron fist. If that means counter-blogging, then so be it. Don’t expect to use BE as a jumping off point for your own MMA blogging venture. Kid Nate is taking the lead in this industry, and as MMA blogging enthusiasts, we’re all better off because of it.

I’m in contact with Carwin’s people about the low ranking, and Nate will be facing off against Carwin in a 2-round ‘exhibition’ match to be aired on Spike as part of the prelims for UFC 116.
If Nate wins, Carwin has agreed to move him into the top 3!
