Word on the street is that SF is getting "fired" by CBS. I, for one, as a true MMA fan am pleased. Let me explain why.
When Strikeforce is thriving, fighters have options. If they are not happy in the UFC, they can seek out SF. If they are like Phil Baroni, they can go get paid in the UFC. Yay!!!
But my point is that these are all terrible realities. Everyone should be glad SF is going off CBS. Hopefully they will lose a bunch of money and go back to being a small local promotion. That way, we can get this:
-no more counter-programming from the UFC
-fewer promotions vying for fighters, so they have less leverage in contract negotiations
I think this is awesome and radical. Anyone hoping for SF to survive is a jerk. *
*seriously though, I am an MMA fan who thinks UFC is the greatest promotion ever. But I also like SF and want them to do ok. Why do so many people seem to relish SF's failures? Any and all comments are welcome. Especially if they involve comical pictures and gifs.
