Tonight we just watched a 25 minute commercial for GSPs next title challenger. Jake Shields was able to beat a legitimate MMA legend who until tonight seemed to still be in his prime, on a national broadcast. Do I think he has a legitmate chance against GSP? No. But do I think this is going to be a a hugely marketable fight? YES!!!
Is all the BS that went down after the fight was horrible for MMA, but couldn't be any better for the UFC. What happened after the fight will be shown on sports shows everywhere, raising Shields appeal to insane levels.
How does Dana do it? No matter what he always winds up landing on his feet.
