I had Egar with three rounds, Penn with one, and one round was so close I did’nt know how to score it.
something had to be wrong with penn
he didn’t try to grapple at all, and kind of looked uninterested in winning that fight. Was it the heat? was he mentally done with lightweight? It seemed like if he just went after edgar he could manhandle him if he wanted too.
I think he fell into sticking with a gameplan that wasn’t working, why didn’t he try to change it up?

Damn I just created basically the same post.
I have Penn 48-47. Alot of those shots Frankie missed and Penn did a good job of countering when Frankie came in. For the first three rounds at least.
I don’t think Frankie did enough to beat Penn as Penn being the champ. Tie goes to the runner theory for me.
I do think Edgar did enough to win if he was the champ or if they didnt fight in a championship fight.
I understand judges make mistakes but at this level I expect better.
If we dont get immediate rematch I will be disaapointed to say the least/
I had it 48-47 for Edgar but did not expect for him to get the nod just because it was so close.
I was very happy with the decision. Shogun should also be Champ right now. Only difference is that Shoguns W was more decisive. Even Machida knew he lost that fight. Anyway, not to get all into that but yeah Im happy with Edgars Title win.

Breen actually scored the fight 49-47 for Penn, which is the same score I had (except he had the 4th as the 10-10, and I had the 3rd as a 10-10).
Your poll takes the possibility of 10-10 rounds out of the equation, except in the case of draw, which in a fight as close as this one is foolish.
