Don`t get too attached to Hardy.

Hardy’s got a chance… just sayin.

by mmalogic on Mar 9, 2010 9:08 PM EST up reply actions

There is also a chance that a planet destroying asteroid could hit RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!

Hardy isn`t the MT wrecking machine that Alves was who was knocking people out left right and centre. Hardy has won 4 fights in the UFC, with 2 split decisions and one KO over a physically depleted opponent.

Hardy is going to get crushed.

You forgot the prepares for profanity laced tirade tag.

most likely he’s gonna get crushed… but Dan’s counter boxing style is much better suited against GSP than Alves MT.

Dan can catch GSP if he’s doesnt get worn out first… that is the problem nobody has been able to solve. GSP shuts his opponents down by first wearing them out to the point they become blue belts in their best techniques and then it’s smooth sailing for the canuk.

It’s alot easier to defend against hardy’s hands than it is GSP’s shot but we’ll see if Hardy can land before he gets worn out.

GSP used up 3 lifetimes worth of unlucky punches against Serra.

Hardy will be on his back within 45 seconds.

by ufc4 on Mar 9, 2010 10:14 PM EST up reply actions

Not really, since Alves has better and more diverse striking than Hardy with more power, and has at least as good of a left hook as Hardy (Hardy’s best punch). Hardy has more reach than Alves, which would be his only advantage. TD defense, ground skills, brute strength/explosion all also favor Alves.

Hardy is a good striker, and is a good counter fighter, but he hasn’t even lit up the WWs he’s fought when they’ve stood up, and none of those guys could mix in TDs with their strikes seamlessly like GSP. Sure, everyone has a chance to win in MMA, but Hardy’s skills aren’t anything GSP hasn’t faced before.

They won’t.

crazy canadians you go UNDER the bar when you limbo.

I’m pumped for this Primetime series. GSP training footage is always pretty sick. BTW, that was a pretty high hurdle he was jumping over.

GSP feeling the riddum in the club, applying Greg Jackson level of gameplan to get laid. Hell yeah!

I was there while they were filming, I do security at the club went to. Hopefully I get on TV looking tough in the background.

GIVE UP?! GIVE UP?!

GSP

is like the real life version of a Jean Claude Van Damme character, I expect that training video to feature a slow motion ultra flex while doing a split on two chairs.

Hope we get to see GSP do some of this

Is it weird that to me it looks wrong WITHOUT Tito’s head in it?

by Worldisart on Mar 9, 2010 9:03 PM EST up reply actions

Tito gifs are national treasures. I can see how you’d feel that way.

I was thinking Leonidas, personally.

I wish they'd have done this when he fought Alves instead of Hardy.

Better, more interesting fighter. Bigger challenge. Why do it for Hardy?

There are many other interesting fighters to cover but apparently language is an issue.
It’s all foreign to me anyway, English, Portuguese, whatever.

Hardy is a compelling guy.

I can see why they did it for this fight. Though I would love to see them do more than just one a year.

In what way? Because he talks smack? That’s a pretty low bar.

Plus they’d just done one on GSP 6 months earlier, at least now they have the storyline of his injury and comeback.

I say again, in what way?

And you’ve got a good point about 100, but why not do one for the Brock/Mir main event then? I’d watch that before one with Hardy. I’m a huge GSP fan and I keep forgetting this show is going to be on.

They know GSP is gonna steamroll him and look like a stud. They want plenty of eyeballs watching it too. I think he might even take him out in 2. Gonna be sick, I’m going to the theatre to watch it afterall. My buddies and I decided to check it out.

GSP is a freak of nature.

He’s some sort of MMA robot that cannot be stopped. No one in the world that weighs 170lbs is going to kick his ass 24 hours later. Hardy has a shot, but it’s a fuckin’ long shot. He’s gonna get a beat down. It may be brutal.

Flailing for a lucky punch against GSP is like going for flying heel hooks againse Anderson Silva. Some things just don`t happen twice.
