Mike Bernhard vs. Ariel Gandulla from last weekend's Rumble at the Rock 2. Gandulla is DQ'd for multiple eye-gouges and groin shots, and then things get interesting.

The commentator enjoying all the ruckus isnt doing anyone any favours.

Was this the same event as that Da Da 5000 (I want to rip out my tongue for typing that) fight was at? If so, this promotion is doing a great job of showcasing everything that’s bad about MMA.
I thought they were going to let the fighters fight after it was called and Bernhard punched Gandulla.
Tony Waugh handled it right.
When he saw they were about to engage he didn’t jump in because they werent fighting for sport, he couldn’t know if they would listen to his commands. When backup got in the ring and the fighters backed off, he jumped right back in and got between the fighters. In this situation, a ref definately has the right to look out for his own well being first.

Was it wrong that I enjoyed that?
Also, bad for the sport!

That card seemed like utter trash
The Dada 5000 debacle and then this stupid shit.
I have a mission for the BloodyElbow staff and nation
this shit right here is beyond awful for the sport (hopefully NY wasn’t watching as they ponder legalization of mma).
I want the BE community to cast a light on this orginization; promoters, refs, commentators…etc. BE was very successful in its recent attempts at policing this sport (Virginia Athletic Commission) and bringing damaging aspects of the fringe elements of this sport to light..
This is your mission, men; good luck. You know Schiavallo will be listening…
the sky is falling!!!! the sky is falling!!!!
lmao….absolutely nothing bad comes from this happening. Stop making this into something that it isn’t.
Agree
Luke talked about a similar thing with the Frank Mir quotes. Basically if you are against MMA you can find plenty of disgusting examples to drag out. A guy getting disqualified for eye gouging, then trying to continue fighting and one spectator getting hauled off isn’t that different from what we see in a lot of other sports.
All in this is how it should work.
Fighter breaks the rules and he gets thrown out, security effectively deals with a additional problems. i don’t really see the issue,.

I don't see anything wrong with the promotion
The Dada5000 stand-up debacle was the fault of the ref, and this whole mess with Gandulla and Bernhard was the fault of the fighters themselves, and was handled appropriately by the ref and security.

I see nothing wrong that the organization did. In this case it seemed like the Ref did a great job and the organization had proper security (police) that immediately jumped into the cage. If the fighters had continued to fight it could be possible that they could face criminal charges.
This doesn’t have to be bad for MMA. It can also show that when things get out of hand, order will be restored in a quick and efficient manner.
