February Fighter Buzz Rankings: Fedor Back on Top
http://www.tapology.com/2010/03/february-mma-buzz-rankings-fedor-back-on-top/
Fedor Emelianenko inched above Brock Lesnar to become the most buzzed about MMA fighter in the month of February, returning to the spot that the Russian heavyweight last held in November. Emelianenko has increasingly become a source of intrigue and curiosity for casual MMA fans, as evidenced by his first-place ranking two months subsequent to his most recent bout. Cain Velasquez rose 52 spots to fifth in the buzz rankings after his breakout performance at UFC 110 in Australia. Also making a big move was UFC middleweight Chael Sonnen, who rose 65 spots to 16th after scoring a major upset against Nate Marquardt at UFC 109, and Demian Maia who rose 79 spots following his win over Dan Miller. 15 fighters fell from the top 50 list after having been there in January.
Tapology’s Buzz Rankings measure fan interest in individual MMA fighters based on online searches and pageviews for information about each athlete. The rankings are not a measure of a fighter’s skill or competitive standing within their division, but rather how much activity or “buzz” surrounds them (positive or negative).

The interest in Velasquez is pretty promising. I wonder if it would be worth the gamble to give him another fight quickly to keep him in the public’s eye rather than keep hiim on hold in case Carwin/Mir can’t face Lesnar in July.
Not that I condone facism or any ism for that matter. Isms are in my opinion, not good. A person shouldn't believe in an ism, he should believe in himself.
I quote John Lennon, "I don't believe in Beatles, I just believe in me". Good point there, after all he was the walrus. I could be the walrus. Wouldn't change the fact I have to bum rides off of people.
i guess things will get a lot clearer once the gonzaga/dos santos and mir/carwin fights are done.
at that point hopefully we’ll know who gets the next shot at lesnar. it’s almost pointless to dream up the scenarios, but i think this would be cool:
- mir beats carwin and gets the next shot at lesnar. not that i’m psyched about mir/lesnar 3, but it would do huge business and be good for the sport
- dos santos beats gonzaga on versus, and then they set up dos santos to fight velasquez either as the main event of a future fight night, OR they make it the co-main event underneath the lesnar title fight
