Jerome just got a tan and bulked up a bit.

Not only that, the only time you see the top fighters actually compete against each other is in the K-1 GP Finals. Why are Badr Hari and Schilt fighting sub-standard opponents when they could be fighting each other?
I love kickboxing and K-1 but it just seems to be a bunch of dick-waving most of the time. And I do not mean that in a way that disparages the fighters. I highly doubt they play an integral role in the selection of their opponents. It just seems to me that FEG doesn’t want to hurt any single fighter’s image by having him lose to another big fighter, and along that vein they would rather watch their juggernauts plow through outclassed opposition.

Clarification:
Errol Zimmerman is highly talented but does anyone honestly believe that he can offer anything for Schilt? Same goes for Ignashov, although I’ll admit that Badr’s aggression is going to be his downfall.

And no, teammates vs. teammates is not an excuse, especially when there are so few top level fighters these days signed to FEG.

That if Alistair Overeem wasn’t concentrating on MMA this year, it would have been Semmy Schilt vs. Alistair Overeem instead of Schilt/Zimmerman for the K-1 Super Heavyweight Title.
Badr Hari vs. Alexey Ignashov is intersting because it has two people who have previously beaten Schilt facing against one another.
Badr Hari vs. Semmy Schilt III makes the most sense for the ’10 GP Finals not three months after the ’09 GP Finals…
I understand FEG’s logic but I suppose I’m not quite as sentimental about which event hosts a particular bout. There’s a lot of time to fill between now and the end of the year.

Hari v. Ignashov
Also, Ignashov has defeated Hari. Avenging a loss and all that…
I can see what folks are saying about the top guys fighting below them, but the truth is both Schilt and Hari are really quite above most everyone else in K-1. As Daniel says, Zimmerman is indeed a good fighter, but no he probably won’t be a huge challenge for Schilt. Trouble is, last year Schilt beat Hari and Bonjasky. So aside from Overeem, Zimmerman is the only fresh match-up of a high ranked opponent available for Schilt. Truthfully, Zimmerman is the highest ranked opponent that Schilt has never fought (again, Overeem aside). So I do think K-1 is working on fresh match-ups here. In fact, there’s only one rematch currently on the card.

Agreed
I’m pretty excited for this, so far it’s a good card. K-1 also has the new 63kg Wightclass, so they are at least keeping things fresh. Not sure why people are trying to rush a rubber-match between Schilt/Hari, I’d rather see Badr/Bonjasky to see who the real #2 is, I can wait for now…
Surprising
Ray Sefo isn’t competing to build his and Alistair’s K-1 records this year, considering the altercation between the men at the ’09 GP Final, it would help setup a fight between the two later…
I'm starting to think that Overeem will never fight for Strikeforce!

Apparently
Jerome Le Banner is a shapeshifter
But if you are stupid, you will be beaten with a stick - Proverbs 10:13
Starring Jerome Le Banner as

"Well... You're damned if you do, and You're damned if you don't."- Bart Simpson
He actually kinda resembles Overeem.
Goro must be eating horse meat, too.
