Shinya Aoki Says...
From Shinya Aoki press conference:
I would like to stab him (Melendez) . For US, maybe I as ex-police officer should say I shoot him. This is not half-hearted determination.
I am fully aware the difference in rules. Hey I am monster MMA geek. I watch every fights. Cage/Ring does not matter to system of my skills
I would take off my long spats. Come to America and enjoy my naked legs.
CBS broadcast does not matter to me. Actually I do not want to become famous, because people somehow bash me for whatever I do.
Don't know what he really trying to say by "stab", but this is exact the same phrase he used before the Hirota bout at Dynamite!. If you recall what happened to Hirota, it is pretty scary statement, particulary in this inter-promotion setting.
Just in case you haven't heard about this, Sasahara announced in this conference that Nick Diaz will be fighting for DREAM in May.

Everybody do the Mir
Seriously though, it’s just not convincing coming from Shinya.
Does he know this is basically how American fans see him?

I lol'd pretty hard.
tabreaz said - "Brock a national champion? Are u actually seriously saying brock is better than rogers due to him being a champion in a completely differant sport?"
Isn't Youtube fun?
Now add hipster glasses and make it so he’s crying.
Sure glad Lesnar got his shit straightened out.

If Aoki ends up breaking Gil's arm or leg or something
I will weep in joy because Aoki won, and also weep in sadness because that will be the end of MMA on Network TV for another 10 years or so.
I love that he’s an MMA nerd, and watches ‘all the fights’. I definitely believe him when he says that the ring/cage won’t make a difference – I think given how into MMA he is as a fan, he’s seen the mistakes that other fighters have made and being the intelligent (albeit hormonal) guy that he is, he’ll adjust his training and style for the cage.
I dont think that would happen because Gilbert would have the intelligence to tap

if he breaks gilbert’s arm, he’s in a for a tornado of mean muggin’ diaz brothers flexing on him in the cage afterwards.

I would love to see Aoki fight Nick or Nate actually
See how good the Diaz’s ground skills really are..
Aoki could not tap Nick and he is just to big for him

Diaz really has ground skills. There is a reason people are afraid of his game. Nate has a sick ground game as well. I would not be concerned with BJJ guys and the Diaz brothers, it those fucking wrastlers that get em every time.
Perhaps Nate should have been a little more concerned with BJJ guys
when he got tapped by Hermes, but to be fair, he’s probably improved significantly since then.
I thought we were
originally talking about Nick. Nate was very young and I would hope he has improved.
