I don’t know if it’s just me, but the UStream embed continues to get stuck on my screen and it’s carried with me every page I go to. Weird.
Also, regarding where Mir should go, I’d like to submit a question for discussion. How would you feel about Mir taking on the winner of Wednesday night’s fight between Roy Nelson and Stefan Struve?

This guy calling from toronto...
The point of Pound 4 Pound is for guys who aren’t heavy weight to be ranked.
For their weight, how good are they?
It’s not about GSP beating BJ Penn or fighting outside your weight class.

P4P
You’re saying GSP is the best because he beat somebody in a lower weight class, he’s the only one who has done it (Anderson Silva has beat guys above his weight class and finished them brutally) so he should be the best.
P4P should only really focus on weight classes that aren’t heavyweight. It’s just a way to rank guys who are smaller or all things being equal.

He’s saying that GSP is really the best in the world because he’s the only guy who’s beat somebody up outside his weight class, which isn’t really true and misses the point of what p4p is about.
If GSP moved down to lightweight and cleaned out that division he’d be ranked P4P as a lightweight.

Think about it.
What weight class BJ is in is not the MOST important factor… it is the manner in which he wins and WHO he wins against. BJ is most certainly a P4P contender and GSP humiliated him for 4 long rounds.
Being the VERY best means beating the VERY best. ONLY GSP has done that. No one else has fought and won against more P4P contenders. Who has Silva, or Fedor or BJ fought that can compare?
Granted George should have rip Hardy’s arm off or GnP him into submission. None of this changes that GSP has accomplished what no other fighter has yet to do.
BJ beat Hughes
Who was definitely in P4P contention. It was a long time ago, but in my opinion its a stronger win than anything Georges has done.

or GSP beating both Hughes and BJ.
In fairness to BJ, he beat Hughes during the Hughes reign of terror.
"Like a ballet of violence clothed in fine Brazilian silk." ~ MMASuPreMaCy
Well BJ never really never got his chance at a Rubbermatch with Hughes
Georges did. And Georges’ size advantage definitely played a part in his wins over BJ. BJ got a win over a bigger fighter who at the time was in contention for best P4P in the world. I just don’t think you can ignore the size difference. (God I hate my sig)
I want your ugly I want your disease I want your everything As long as it’s free I want your love Love-love-love I want your love I want your drama The touch of your hand I want you leather studded kiss in the scene And want your love Love-love-love I want your love You know that I want youAnd you know that I need youI want a bad, your bad romance I want your loving And I want your revenge You and me could write a bad romance I want your loving All your love is revenge You and me could write a bad romance
Hmm
I think so because of the size difference. Which is really circular logic because of what Jayce Jon originally said but yeah.

In boxing everybody says the baddest man in the world is the HW Champ. There is no way a lightweight could beat a heavy weight.
So they came up with P4P to shed light on lower weight classes and talk about rankings.
And yes beating a guy who is naturally lighter in weight isn’t as impressive as moving up in weight, that’s why the PAC MAN is so awesome. Not many guys can move up.
Fedor has fought guys that were a lot heavier than he was, and a lot smaller than he was in Pride, if that’s your only meter stick for success.
Silvia has destroyed two light HWs which is much more impressive than laying on a smaller man for a few rounds.

Okay, I was only half paying attention due to a distraction, but I get the feeling that Urijah Faber fantasizes about the WEC folding into the UFC and the top FWs and BWs all becoming huge stars. What a crazy idea.
He’s thinking about his career in the big picture. Cant hate on a guy for having goals.
"Like a ballet of violence clothed in fine Brazilian silk." ~ MMASuPreMaCy
Yeah…. I was being sarcastic. I agree with Faber. People like Faber and Aldo deserve the same exposure top people in other divisions get. What’s more, right now you have no really strong challengers for GSP, BJ Penn, or Anderson Silva the way Faber is a strong challenger to Aldo, Shogun to Machida, or Carwin to Brock. Faber vs. Aldo could have headlined UFC 115, for instance.
Hardy didn’t do shit besides survive. I just don’t see a big upside for him as a result of being utterly dominated but not dieing at the hands of GSP.
You cant see the marketing spin from the result? Hardy is DURABLE, Hardy has HEART, Hardy WILL NOT TAP, Hardy HAS NOT BEEN STOPPED…. etc
"Like a ballet of violence clothed in fine Brazilian silk." ~ MMASuPreMaCy
You just said the same thing in slightly different ways over and over again. If Hardy had shown some offense at all, I could see something. He just didn’t show any offense at all.

That’s the whole point. Marketing spin. You and I know it’s bullshit but the average paying public dont.
"Like a ballet of violence clothed in fine Brazilian silk." ~ MMASuPreMaCy
I could be wrong. I just don’t think that the average public is quite that out of it. Maybe, they are. Nothing much surprises me at this point.
