That reminded me of Arlovski in a way.

The way the KO was set up with that low kick to the foot. It spread Maeda’s feet and dropped his hands setting up the KO blow much the way Arlovski did with Roy Nelson…only AA used his hands to get the KO.

Great subtle move that very few fighters use.

I don't know...

…Daniel Roberts eyes looked crazy after John Howard knocked him out the other night. Roberts was fast asleep while his eyes were wide open and looking at something far, far away. Looked like a dead man.

The frightening thing about that KO...

was how Roberts eye’s started open and closed after the second or third unnecessary punch. Kind of like he reached a new, more dangerous level of K’dTFO.

Well played. Almost too subtle, ’cause this should be green already.

I know, I’m a big Maeda fan but he needs to fight guys his own size or hang it up.

Mad Photo

He jumped on him like he was a slip ‘n’ slide after the KO. That looked crazy.

Holy snapping duck shit...

MMA pic of the year so far.

I agree

I would go as far as to say its one of the best MMA pics ever, so far. Everything fits so well, the mid-air freeze frame, the focused look in Escovedo’s eyes, Maeda’s arms frozen upward and the look on the re’fs face. Just so much awesome in this. It’s going up on the wall in my rec room for sure.

I thought Maeda was gonna win that. He was bouncing around, looked light on his feet, confident. Then WAMMY! =(

Sick KO.

poor maeda :( he is a awesome fighter and i love his style. Although he clearly needs to keep his hands up more and work on that striking defense.

Same here.

Escovedo wrecked Maeda something fierce & that pic is a work of art

Whoa

That ref can really move. He looks relatively far away from the fighters in the picture but Escovedo and the ref seem to reach Maeda at the same time in the GIF

Wow, thanks for all the great comments. I really appreciate it. It was a tough shoot for me actually, I just had bad luck the entire night with angles and referees. Getting a photo that gets appreciated like this makes it worth it though.

Sales

Have you thought about printing & framing this photo in limited numbers? I would buy one for my man cave.
