It took me a while to realize that was his ankle.
That doesn’t seem like a feasible position for his ankle to be in.

He could have got it before. He just would have had to pay for it himself as opposed to expecting his neighbors to pay for it for him.
For something like this...
…he could have showed up at the emergency room last year and they would have fixed him up. And his neighbors would have to pay for it.
We’ve had universal health care for this sort of thing forever. All we’re adding now is “universal preventative care.” :-)
