Howard's KO was apparently very cool

he dove into Roberts’s guard with one of those flying haymakers that look cool but never connect, except this time it connected flush.

My vote would be for the axe

he really hasn’t shown any reason to be given another shot.

by Scott Haber on Mar 21, 2010 8:08 PM EDT up reply actions

the axe

although they might keep him around to feed to new comers.

If Hague got the axe

Gormley definitely deserves the axe. 0-2 with under 1 round of ring time doesn’t cut it.

The heavyweight division is still the thinnest division. They may give him one more shot against another guy low on the totem pole.

by Chromium on Mar 21, 2010 8:25 PM EDT up reply actions

Nevermind. I just read the details of the match. Gormley is probably gone.

by Chromium on Mar 21, 2010 8:28 PM EDT up reply actions

Heavywheights the thinnest division

Despite the oxymoronish implications of that statement, I find the heavyweights to actually be the deepest division if not the deepest due to the amount of contenders they have

Lightweight = none
Welterweight= barely any
Middleweight= barely any
Lightheavys= a couple for sure

From the MMA Junkie live blog
Guida dicks a jab and delivers to the body.

Well….takes his humping reputation to a new level.

I think we can say goodbye to Gugerty as well.

When you’re a submission specialist and you get tapped by Guida of all people, you know that perhaps it’s time move down to the minor leagues.

5-2 on undercard picks.

…had a feeling though that if I was gonna be wrong on a couple of fights, Bang would be one of them.

How did Matyushenko get a split decision?

I saw him and Marshall at 103 – Marshall was uninspiring, while Vladimir beat the piss out his his guy.

Very happy to see that Clay won and that he learned from his mistakes in the Kenflo fight, Guida has a very effective style that is a nightmare for other LW’s. There was no reason for him to change it and him steamrolling Gugerty will hopefully be a nice preview of what’s to come for Clay in 2010 war the Caveman.

Also happy to see Vlad get another win in the UFC hopefully now they’ll give him more of a name fighters maybe Jardine would be a good test for him.

Finally sucks about Ludwig, I hope he gets another shot considering it was a fluke injury that caused him to lose.
