Wanderlei Silva says his upcoming fight with Yoshihiro Akiyama may be happening sooner than you think:
"The next is (Akiyama) and he is number one, and the number two is Bisping because I'm going to give a rematch to him," said Silva.
"It's a great match because he's an incredible fighter. He's got an Olympic gold medal. He's had great performances in Dream in Japan, (he's) very famous there," Silva commented about Akiyama. "I think it's a great opportunity, one more really tough opponent, and I'm going to prove in the future it's possible I can be with the best fighters in 185."
"I know I'm going to fight soon," said the former Pride champion. "I'm going to have a great surprise for my fans what date I'm going to fight. I'm so close to signing my next fight, we'll talk about things a little bit more, and I think I'm going to be fighting soon."

I'd die if that happened, but I wouldn't keep my fingers crossed
He says the fight’s not even signed yet and the Versus event is less than three weeks away. Not to mention that fight would be main even-worthy over Vera-Jones and they’ve been promoting that card as Vera vs. Jones for months now.
Finally some good news amid the SF wreck.

Boy…Signing Arlovski, announcing Aoki/Melendez, announcing Overeem/Rogers. It’s been a real wreck of bad news.

I'd say calling SF a wreck is apt at the moment...
Just because the train wreck happened to run aground and strike oil doesn’t mean that it wasn’t a train wreck before and after the good part.
If Strikeforce wants to continue to push forward as a UFC competitor they really need to step their game up and get much more consistent across the board from card quality to publicity. This one step forward, two steps back approach is going to be the death of them otherwise.

I mean more the wreck that is SF itself – I’m jazzed about the actual fights. If they’d stop overextending themselves, I wouldn’t care. I think of them now like Affliction – it’s good while it lasts (which, if they’re not careful, won’t be much longer).

Akiyama won an Olympic gold? That must be one of those secret Olympic golds that no one hears about.
Bisping rematch?
Ugh, don’t waste what little time you have left.
Without pain, without sacrifice, we would have nothing.
a guy with silver shoes wouldn’t last 12 minutes in Chael’s hood

I don’t think that the people in Chael’s hood would last 1 minute in Sexiyama.

Akiyama has never won a gold medal in Olympics....
He won a gold medal in Asian Game in 2000 or 2001
He certainly knows a thing or two about Judo and he has been asking this fight for long long time.
Let’s see who wins. I love both of fighters so i hope it’ll be a great fight regardless of outcome.
*Forget Bisping, i know how badly u want to soccer kick his mouth Wandy, but it’s not worth wasting your time.
You have to beat the legend, in order to become the LEGEND
-Melvin Manhoef (after his destruction of Sakuraba)
Well considering Wanderlei fought once last year, and twice in 2008, a quick turnaround for hiim might not be as fast as we’d all like to hope it to be.
And yeah, no need to fight Bisping again. Wandy won and theres no need to use up one of his last fights beating a dead horse. Unless of course a fast rising contender with the nickname “Dead Horse” arises. But I don’t really see that happening.
Not that I condone facism or any ism for that matter. Isms are in my opinion, not good. A person shouldn't believe in an ism, he should believe in himself.
I quote John Lennon, "I don't believe in Beatles, I just believe in me". Good point there, after all he was the walrus. I could be the walrus. Wouldn't change the fact I have to bum rides off of people.
Going to take a big guess: Fight Night with Florian versus Gomi. Add Wandy vs Sexy and they have a show that if they can get aired can really be marketed to the Japanese and Korean markets. A great way to test the waters over there.

Akiyama is a dirty greaser. how can anyone forget him greasing himself against sakuraba and having that result overturned by jap commision. NEVER FORGET
Hm
I can tell we’re not going to get along..

Glad I found you (weird right?)
Recommend a laptop. Preferably one less than $1200 that can play decent games. Recommend it right…..now!*
*please
I’m asking you because you always mention computer gaming and I’m getting the bug again but am happy with my desktop. Gracias

Damn
Haven’t invested in a gaming rig in a matter of years, honestly (the PC gaming scene isn’t what it used to be and I bought Mac’s for my creative services studio). You should concentrate on a good processor and, for a laptop, monitor size is critical. You’re probably going to invest in a video/graphics card after the stock purchase, as it is.

You have failed me. Jk thanks anyway. I just need to blow some money and a laptop seemed like a good way

Ha
Yeah man, that’s a reasonably big investment, and I wouldn’t want to lead you astray.

Why not just buy a nice gaming desktop and a netbook for browsing BE on the go?
How did I end up on this bandwagon and why does everything say property of Chael Sonnen?
I already have a custom built desktop. Want a laptop mostly just to have one. If im gonna have one I want it to play games. Circle of life.
Ive actually decided to go with a new desk, chair, and printer instead. Im fickle that way…
by MauiPimpin on Mar 3, 2010 3:09 AM EST via mobile up reply actions
Set up the gaming desktop like a mainframe
and use a netbook as a dumb terminal over your network. Then you can play all the games you want, and you only need one rig to run the games.
Of course, I haven’t figured out how to do this yet, but it seems like a great idea.
I like using semi-colons; they make me feel smart.
Speaking of fights that only 'hard-cores' give a crap about...
I'm just a dude who's trying to put it together.
Says the guy busting a nut over the next Strikeforce card

I’d lose it if this came to Montreal. I’d become a blithering idiot for weeks (yeah, yeah) before the fight.
It’s funny, because for years Silva had a “no japanese fighter” can beat me thing going in PRIDE,partly because there was only one guy who really could, and Silva murdered him three times. But it starts again, with a Japanese fighter who could beat him.
Japanese-ish.

I'm sofa king conflicted.
On one hand, I’m about as diehard of a Wandy fanboy as you will find. On the other hand, I’m a loyal member of the Sexwagon. It is not fair that these two worlds should collide.

I specializes in grammar fail.
