Great news
Any speculation as to a window for a return? I haven’t really paid attention to the rehabit period before this news.

I doubt he’s worried.
Belfort just Okamied himself out of a title shot.

Let him beat up CB Dollaway
to get back into the swing of things, and then have him fight Chael or Marquardt.
The lack of credible opponents for Anderson (assuming he beats Maia) hasn’t gone away. I think they’ll go right back into giving him his title shot, no warm ups.

I thought it was assumed that Chael was promised the next shot
even when that changed from winner of Silva-Belfort to winner of Silva-Maia.
Silva should just have all of these guys form a circle around him like villains in a martial arts film, and mow them down one at a time.
Either that, or fight three times in six months. Both would make me happy.

This is Dana we’re talking about. How many guys have been told they were going to get a shot and have the rug pulled out from under them? I think Belfort actually signing the contract and having it go sideways puts him at the front of the pack, ahead of Chael. But only time will tell, I guess.

Let's keep in mind--
Vitor himself felt that he wasn’t ready— he might concede that “auto-shot”, if it exists, and fight another bigger name in the meantime.

I do expect a Wanderlei/Vitor rematch at some point this year.

If Shogun beats Machida...
i wouldn`t be to suprised if Anderson fought for the LHW-title sometime soon after. And if Machida wins… Shogun would then be out of the title-picture for at least a year (or at least until he wins two rebound fights). Anderson would be a great opponent for Shogun then.
So. Either way I think Anderson`s next fight may be against Shogun.

Things are going to look completely different after a few months of big cards, injuries, etc., but I’m sure they’d like Anderson/Shogun to happen. Will Anderson decide to vacate the MW belt to fight for it? I don’t know. He may still consider it Lyoto’s division or something, and the UFC presumably would want him to move up permenently if he was going to hold the belt there. But I definitely feel like Vitor’s chance has come and gone for the foreseeable future. If Wand beats Akiyama, I’d like to see him against Vitor. By the time that could happen, it could be for a MW title shot for all we know.

MW Future
I see Vitor come back from rehab and fight the winner of Sexiyama/Wanderlei. For the fans’ sake, I really do hope Wanderlei wins, just to see Vitor knock him senseless in a rematch.
