Mauricio "Shogun" Rua has brought in K1 veteran and karate practitioner Glaube Feitosa to help prepare for his upcoming rematch with Lyoto Machida at UFC 113.
"Glaube is a guy who comes from Karate and I am very honored to have him in our academy. It is a privilege, I think he is the best in Brazil. At heavyweight, he was the guy who most represented Brazil abroad. Everyone here at the academy is a fan of his."
"Glaube is living in Curitiba and is with us for two months. We already was a fan of the guy before this… The guy is an extraordinary person, super humble. He has a lot to help the people there in the gym. It's an asset to the academy."

Maybe or maybe not
But they should have atleast some similarities..
Not at all. He’s Kyokushin Karate fighter. His skills didn’t translate well into K1, but I guess he is a guy to have at your gym.

what the main difference between that and shotokan?
is it….
kyokushin = be agressive
shotokan/machida = dance around being evasive until your opponent gets pissed/confused and then counterpunch
Goldie: "Michael Jordan-esque in his grappling skills is Travis Lutter."
Rogan: "No, no he's not. No."
More or less, yes. Maybe not aggressive, but Kyokushin is full contact, in a lot of ways it reminds Muay Thai, it’s a war of attrition. Shotokan has point sparring, so it’s more about movement.
