They should totally make Minowa fight him again, but in this makeup.

The elbow didn't stop the fight, a choke did.
Elbow damage is mostly superficial, and has little lasting impact.
The forehead will heal up with no permanent damage. Miguel will not be affected by this injury when he is 50. A concussion from a KO on the other hand will.

He knew the fight was gonna get stopped in about 15 seconds, so he threw everything he could into a crazed race to finish Benavidez before the ref called in a doctor. Got caught because he focused on his offense and knew he only had seconds to finish.

Huh. Thanks for the info. He looked kinda loose to me after the elbow, like he was really dazed and just reached for Benavidez’ legs out of pure instinct.

He did say in interviews he couldn’t see or breathe well through the blood, so it was over the first time a doctor looked at it anyway.

I was at this show and i talked to Greg Jackson and some other trainers, they said this was one of the worst cuts they had ever seen
