No matter what, Freddie Roach wants Floyd Mayweather Jr. next:
"If Mayweather doesn't come to the table, I know there are other fights out there, but would you guys be interested in that?" Roach said. "Would the general public buy that? I want that fight probably as bad as you guys do.
"It's got nothing to do with the money. It's about the challenge. I know (Mayweather's) style gives Manny the most problems and it would be a difficult fight for us."
"People say, why not just take the blood test and be over it," Roach said. "Just because it doesn't bother you to give blood doesn't mean it doesn't bother me. Some people pass out when they give blood. Manny Pacquiao, I lose him for three days when he gives blood because he feels weak. I don't care if its mental or physical, but it's there.
"I don't think Floyd is big enough to make the rules. We're not going to do any rule he says. It's like giving away the first two rounds to him. It gives him confidence and we won't do that."

In before "but he has tattoos" arguement!
It’s totally different. And he doesn’t get ink a week before the biggest fight in the entire sport of boxing today. GTFO here with that.

Thank you
I actually had a nurse say this to me cause I hate getting blood tested. She actually said “but you have tattoos”. It’s scratching the skin, not drawing blood.

AHHH FLOYD!
Floyd Mayweather boxes for money and money only; its very obvious when he fought marquez. At that time Floyd owed the IRS 6.1 MILLION DOLLARS !!! He knows if he loses to Manny, his stock drops drastically in the boxing world. Now a fight with Mosley, that presents a similar pay day against an opponent that is almost taylor made for Floyd.

Oh look at this now
before Floyd was in negotiations to fight with anybody everyone was talking about how he’d probably duck Pacman and Mosley, but now that he’s excepted to fight Mosley all of the sudden he’s tailer made for him to beat? I like the fact that two things aren’t getting brought up here, Manny was willing to go as high as 24 days before the fight but Mayweather wouldn’t budge on 14 days, so that 10 day period is ultimately what stopped this fight from happening. So what’s the deal with that, is that 10 day period going to really be all that much more draining for Pacman?
Secondly everybody keeps acing like Floyd came into the negotiations like Mr. Big Dick, but Pac’s people where the one’s that wanted to decided the size of the gloves, the date, and 10 million dollars for every pound that Floyd potentially came in over weight, all of which Floyd agreed to.
How did he find a way to avoid fighting Manny without losing face, it’s actually the opposite since this time it was his opponent that backed out and he still gets called the one that’s ducking. This wasn’t something that sprung up in the middle of nowhere, it was something that had been apart of the negotiations since the beginning it’s just that Manny and his people all of the sudden took issue with it after Floyd agreed to their demands. So what did Floyd agree to all of their demands with his fingers crossed praying that Manny’s voodoo sense would start tingling and he’d decide he didn’t want to get stuck with a needle all of the sudden? Manny killed this fight, no matter what the reason was or if it has validity or not, Manny killed this fight more than you can say Floyd did.
Floyd asks for something completely relevant in this day and age in combat sports, Manny asks for something that’s actually pretty unheard of and Floyd still equals the bad guy. It’s called the negotiation process and both sides usually come in with their own stipulations. And to the people acting like this was all just Floyd playing mind games, it might have been apart of it but I genuinly think that the Mayweather family is truly convinced that Manny might be doping to be that good, which really is a compliment to him more than anything. Floyd Sr. was the one that said during the Cotto fight that Manny might be on something so it’s goes back as far as that fight at least. Floyd doesn’t have a top ten list of Manny’s greatest fears so it’s not like he came in prepared to spray him in the face with nightmare juice the night before the fight, how would he know in advance that this would be the one thing to stop Manny from agreeing to this fight? This whole thing just becomes excuse hour for Pacman and not so much from Manny himself but more from his fans.
I don’t want to write a whole novel on the events, I just don’t want this turning into another Floyd is a dueche fest with the most insulting responses getting the most recs, especially considering if the tables were turned everybody would without question be on the other side.
"That's right I'm into hardcore crack, that's why my teeth are so bad"
I could care less about all the drama behind the matchmaking and I have no problem with the testing, but Floyd made his own bed by repeatedly acting like a nob throughout his career. Even if he does have logic on his side, many people refuse to hear him out because on the way he’s chosen to act in the past. It’s difficult to have good will for someone who makes themselves unlikable.
I’m not a huge boxing fan, so I just want to see the fight itself.

I've never thought of the mental aspect of giving in on a big negotiating tactic like that.
Freddie makes a good point.
Floyd is really smart. He found a way to avoid fighting Manny without losing face.

Roach has always seemed like a pretty thoughtful guy from the little I know of him and now that he’s come around on mma I like him even more.
“If Mayweather doesn’t come to the table, I know there are other fights out there, but would you guys be interested in that?” Roach said. “Would the general public buy that? I want that fight probably as bad as you guys do.”
Great quote.
