Wide World of MMA Vol. 13 - February 2010 (18 GIFs)

After a January WWoMMA that required a bit of sleuthing to find enough quality highlights, I wasn't sure what to expect in February, another historically slow month on the MMA calendar. But I'm pleased to present what is arguably one of the best editions yet, with a ton of emergent young talent and recognizable names. And just a month after I introduced the "biggest win" category, a half dozen prospects come up with key victories over established MMA mainstays. Go figure.

Best Knockout: Demetrious Johnson
Best Submission: Alan Omer
Best Fight: Alberto Mina vs. Dean Amasinger

Biggest Win: Quinn Mulhern

There were many worthy candidates, including Michael MacDonald, Isaac de Jesus, Alberto Mina and Alan Omer, but the award has to go to welterweight prospect Quinn Mulhern after his convincing TKO win over UFC regular Rich Clementi. Mulhern's top control was exceptional, and he took mount several times before the finish. Mulhern's gutsy performance should earn him an invite from a major MMA promotion.
