Martin Kampmann Injured, Jake Ellenberger to Replace Against Ben Saunders
MMA Junkie reports that welterweight contender Martin Kampmann is withdrawing from his scheduled UFC 111 fight with Ben Saunders (8-1-2, 4-1 UFC) due to an injury suffered in training. Replacing Kampmann will be rising welterweight prospect Jake Ellenberger (22-5, 1-1 UFC:
MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) learned of the change from sources close to the bout, though the UFC has yet to make an official announcement.
The Kampmann vs. Saunders bout was slated for the main card of UFC 111, which takes place March 27 in Newark, N.J. It's currently unknown if the organization will adjust the bout order following the change.
Kampmann was forced to withdraw after suffering an undisclosed injury in training. Sources close to the fighter assured MMAjunkie.com that the injury was not severe and that Kampmann could return as soon as May, but there was simply no way for the Danish striker to remain on the March card.
Ellenberger last fought at UFC 108 where he TKO'd Mike Pyle out of his UFC contract.

Probably a tougher fight for Saunders.

methinks Martin didn't want none of this:

Here’s to hoping they set up Paulo Thiago vs Kampmann now.
A good fight got better
This is an upgrade if you ask me. Two up and coming WW wrecking machines going at it.
And its a tougher matchup for Saunders, I second feeding Kampmann to the AKA Killer P. Thiago.
I’ll third that. Give the guy a break:) Koscheck, Fitch and Swick, with two finishes, and essentially a draw with Fitch. And this is his part-time job!

Ben Saunders vs. A younger version of Marcus Davis
I see knees in Ellenberger’s future. Lots of them.

@deowade
I don't see the comparison between Davis and Ellenberger
Davis is a good boxer with an okay chin, decent submissions and crappy wrestling.
Ellenberger is an excellent wrestler (although I wouldn’t necessarily call him a talented boxer) with heavy hands, a great chin and good submission defense.
Other than the heavy hands, I don’t really see the similarity between the two.
I like Ben Saunders and I hope he wins.
