Junie got a groin pull in the first minute or so of the fight. His corner stopped the fight between rds 1 and 2.

After the fight, the doctor gave him a shot backstage for the groin pull and said it was one of the worst he’s seen in a long time.

This morning when I took Junie to the airport he still couldn’t walk.

Congrats to Aaron, he trained his ass off and looked like he was ready for a three round war.

… Junie called me two days before the weighins to tell me he had an injury making it difficult for him to do cardio and cut. He asked me to call Aaron’s trainers and tell them that he might come in 2-3 lbs heavy due to this. He wanted to let them know out of courtesy that he might come in a bit heavy rather than just show up at the weigh-ins and be a bit heavy.

Aaron’s camp was aware of this, but asked that he be on weight and at least due his best.

After I brought him into radio at 8 am the day of the weigh ins, he began his weight cut. He cut about 8-10 lbs I think and ended up 0.8 lbs overweight. He couldn’t cut anymore. So yes, he came in 0.8 heavy. But of the hundreds of fights and fighters that I’ve dealt with over the years, I felt he was at least respectful in letting the other party know a couple days ahead that he was having a problem. Many fighters don’t give that much notice of course.

And I don’t think any promoter has had a weigh in where all fighters showed up on weight. It’s an unfortunate part of the sport.

So now I guess he is a Pimp with a limp
