Herschel Walker on Inside the NFL
"I want to fight soon, if I'm gonna do it (again), I want to fight soon, you know I've got to come to the realization that I am getting old. Even thought I may not feel it, I know I am getting old. So I got to do this pretty quickly."Click here if you can't view the video.
"Jose Canseco is a guy who never trained and he's making a mockery of this sport and that's something I won't do. You know, I'm a fighter. I became a fighter when I entered AKA. ... I didn't do this for the money; I did this for the competition. I don't know what Jose is doing; he's probably at home eating chips."

Smart move by Showtime to use Inside the NFL to showcase strikeforce with the connection Herschel has with the NFL. I have really no interest in seeing walker fighting again personally once was enough. He will never face a guy worth talking about and if he does he will lose. Same goes for Bobby Lashely.
"Frank Mir had a horseshoe up his ass. I told him a year ago. I pulled it out of him and I beat him over the head with it." Brock Lesnar
I don’t know about the Lashley thing though. We really don’t know if he’s just going to be a recognizable name, or if he’s actually trying to get to the point where he’s fighting the Overeems and Rogers etc. If he takes on Bret Rogers and makes it a good fight and then wants another big similar fight like Mike Whitehead or something, then I’ll sit up a little bit straighter, otherwise I feel like the whole Lashley thing is a little insulting.
Honestly, even though I have no interest in seeing Herschel fight again, he’s a good ambassador since he speaks well and has respect from other sports. I wouldn’t mind him going on PTI and just talking about the sport.

They won't let him, though.
Kornheiser and Wilbon are funny, but they give MMA no chance. If I recall, Tony just called MMA “repulsive”?
They don’t see a brilliant sub from Nog, or a marvelous feat of athleticism from GSP. It’s the next generation MMA fans must conquer, thus a consensus we must establish, ala Temudjin!!!!
We're just a million little gods causin' rain storms, turning every good thing to rust.
herschel can just be a draw
honestly everyone involved knows hes no superstar fighter he does not deserve to be in SF at all but that org can use all the help they can get, i honestly dk where they’re getting their money to keep this expansion going
i dont see SF making it to 2012 when feodrs contract goes up he’ll eventually go to the ufc and copromotion with japan isnt the right answer, i give them a year and a half
The Jose fight has to happen
It just has to.
No, no it doesn’t.

My thoughts
I like how Herschel is going about this. I don’t mind other athletes trying their hand at MMA when they do it the way Herschel is doing it. He loves the competition. He knows he’s not going to be a top ten fighter. He is respecting the sport and not just trying to make a dollar off of a growing sport like Jose is. I just hate that these other analyst who don’t really care about mma only watch these guys and are not following the careers of GSP, Bj Penn, Anderson Silva, Macheda….etc. These guys are incredible athletes with some incredible fighting ability. It just really surprises me that ESPN doesn’t cover this sport more then they do. They use to cover the effin spelling bee. They cover motor cross, poker, bowling….. I wonder if it’s because of Dana White that they don’t cover the UFC as much and cover the freak show fights more.
I just think it’s very interesting where this sport has come and where it’s going. I don’t know what’s holding it back from everyone liking it. I just have to believe that some of these reporters have not given it a chance. The only person I have heard talk about it is Jim Rome. Rome is a big fan and has a lot of fighters on as guest. Hopefully some of the others will come on board.
The dumbest thing that Walker said was that the Colts would lose! Come on man! I’m from Indpls….. we got this. No one can stop Peyton!
Shut up, Tito.

Walker is annyoing with his whole, "I didn't do it for the money, that all went to charity."
Yeah except, he only was paid like what 800 bucks??? (Thats what was up on BE for SF salaries) Why would he except such a meager amount of money, even if he wasn’t keeping it and it was going to charity? You’d think he would want to donate some real money. Good job Walker and Strikeforce.
