Forrest Griffin vs. Antonio Rogerio Nogueira Moved to UFC 114 in Vegas
In a light heavyweight bout that was initially rumored for UFC 113 in Montreal, Forrest Griffin and Antonio Rogerio Nogueira will instead do battle a few weeks later in Las Vegas on the UFC 114 card. MMA Junkie reported on the shift which wasn't at all surprising, given the fact that Josh Koscheck vs. Paul Daley was given "co-main event" status at 113, and the 114 card needed another feature bout.
The current rumored cards for these two May events are after the jump.
UFC 113 (Montreal, May 8th):
Lyoto Machida vs. Mauricio "Shogun" Rua
Josh Koscheck vs. Paul Daley
Patrick Cote vs. Alan Belcher
Kimbo Slice vs. Matt Mitrione
Sam Stout vs. Jeremy Stephens
TJ Grant vs. Johny Hendricks
Marcus Davis vs. Jonathan Goulet
Yoshiyuki Yoshida vs. Mike Guymon
UFC 114 (Las Vegas, May 29th):
Quinton "Rampage" Jackson vs. Rashad Evans
Forrest Griffin vs. Antonio Rogerio Nogueira
Diego Sanchez vs. John Hathaway
Todd Duffee vs. Mike Russow
Efrain Escudero vs. Dan Lauzon
Aaron Simpson vs. TBA

In other words: Forrest granted 3 more weeks of living.

Exaclty what I was gonna say
Or 3 more weeks of him and his team brainstorming for viable gameplan.
Bummer. I really wanted to see that fight. I was actually going to go to this card for sure (As a student, I’m sure to be pretty broke by May, so its pretty tough) First they take away Rampage-Rashad, then this? I was really hoping that Dana might try to make up for the shitty card they put on at UFC 97. I guess he knows Montreal’s a good fight city they’ll sell out regardless.
This card is already stacked.
Although moving this fight tells me Kimbo will be on the main card.

Yeah, its still not a bad card. Just that lil nog is one of my favourites, so I was really looking forward to seeing it. In all honesty Slice-Mitrione doesn’t do much for me, though.
Slice-Mitrione
doesn’t do anything for anyone on BE. That fight is not for us.

Was there really a doubt?
For marketing alone, like it or not, it would be very stupid to ever put Kimbo on a fight that will not be televised.

Put him on Spike?
But otherwise I understand the marketing perspective.

Spike card, PPV card, whatever card he is on, he will never be on the undercard until his popularity and allure dwindle

I believe he meant on the prelims aired on Spike that lead in to the PPV.

I don't understand this...
They didn’t take away anyhting from the card. Tickets are not on sale yet. If you don’t like the card, don’t go.
I thought UFC 97 was awesome, Silva’s performance was so beautiful. To each their own.

Thales Leites made it the most boring championship fight ever.
I thought the card was fun, however.

Why do people LIKE Kimbo?
I tune in to see him lose, so he’s definitly getting my time. I still don’t understand people being a FAN of his.
Because he didn't look like a total joke skills wise in his last fight.
I know Houston has become a total stiff, but he wasn’t awful.
The gassing at the end? Oh yeah that was bad.

I don't know why you'd tune in to see him lose
Unlike Tito or Mayweather Kimbo hasn’t really done anything to deserve any real ire directed towards him, he’s just a guy that punched people in the face in random backyards when all of the sudden all of these companies wanted to use him to make some money so he went along with it. He seems like a cool enough guy, and people want to see him do well but nobody outside of the casuals have any unrealistic expectations for him.
