UFC 2010: Undisputed Preorder Bonus Is TUF 10 Fighters…

Last year, Pre-ordering UFC 2009: Undisputed netted you access to the winners of TUF 8, Ryan Bader and Efrain Escudero. This year, you’ll get some more Ultimate Fighter vets for ordering early, according to sports gaming website PastaPadre:

The pre-order bonus for UFC Undisputed 2010 will offer a code to download four exclusive fighters. The first has been announced as James McSweeney. The other three, though not officially revealed, are expected to be fellow TUF 10 participants Roy Nelson (winner), Brendan Schaub (runner-up), and Marcus Jones. Gamestop is currently the only outlet that has this offer listed.

Personally, I’m excited that McSweeney was announced. This means that I’ll be able to create Ring of Combat Light Heavyweight Champion Ricardo Romero, and smash McSweeney just like Ricardo did in real life.

Just like every sports game, I’m excited for the reveal of the ratings for the fighters. Here are some guesses:

  • Roy Nelson: 83
  • Brendan Schaub: 80
  • Marcus Jones: 75
  • James McSweeney: 78

Have guesses of your own? Leave them in the comments!

Meh.

Could care less about any of them to be honest. Roy Nelson would be nice, but the rest are pointless (unless you want to beat the hell out of a virtual McSweeney). Also, I have my doubts Marcus will be a playable character, considering he’s retired or some such.

Without pain, without sacrifice, we would have nothing.

McSweeney Got a Shot on TUF....

because of who his trainer is (Greg Jackson.) Our beef with him is that one of the east coast’s best prospects, Romero, languishes away in regional promotions despite being a much better fighter than McSweeney.

Also, while Jones has retired, remember that the rosters go final very early. They could have already modeled his character before the Finale.

I'm certainly not defending McSweeney if that's the way you took my comment.

I hate his personality and the fact that he can’t fight particularly well is just an added negative.

Without pain, without sacrifice, we would have nothing.

Love McSweeny or Hate him

there’s no denying that there were much worse fighters on the show. He certainly wasn’t the least deserving.

Are they going to have to create special character model animations to accomodate Roy Nelson’s gut?

lol...

THQ has already said that every fighter is modeled using photorealistic technology, unlike last year when half the fighters were created with the Create-a-Fighter.

So, yes. They will have a character model for Nelson’s stomach,

the ratings look good but i think roy nelson will be ranked in the 86 87 area

by JaTinkles on Feb 28, 2010 6:27 PM EST reply actions

I don't know if I buy this...

they don’t have any info on the other three fighters, they’re essentially just guessing. I’m waiting to see what info GameStop releases before I assume it’s the TUF finalists.

Pasta Padre is a really good site that gets a lot of sports game info first. While’s it’s not 100%, I would be shocked if more than one of four turns out to be incorrect.

by 3rdstringsafety on Feb 28, 2010 9:23 PM EST up reply actions

Oh I don't doubt that it's a credible site

it’s just that they’re not saying anything along the lines of: “sources tell us these will be the other three fighters”, or “we’ve gotten info that these will be the other three fighters”. By instead saying the other three fighters “are expected” to be Nelson et. al, it makes it seem like they’re just guessing based on message-board rumors.

True...

Yea, I guess I could see that. Poorly worded.

I think of myself as a good ratings guy. Roy Nelson at 83 is pretty accurate. 86-87 would be far too high. When you consider last year Cain was around that.

85 and above will be relegated for top contenders.

Remember the best fighter in each weight division was 93-94 last year.

Brock to me would be a 90. Mir possibly may be higher. Ratings aren’t always based on who would win against who.

When you factor in all of the skillsets wrestling , jits, and striking. You can see how some fighters who would lose but who are more well rounded would have a higher rating.

It seems Mir has improved his striking as of late his strength also. His jits is top notch.

However striking in last year’s game was based on your power. Everyone has the same skill it’s up to you as the player to determine the skill level. Hope this was informative.

If you would like to hear about what some ratings where last year we had a nice website up for the game where we adjusted ratings and created characters outside of the UFC.

I would be interested...

To know the name of that site. The CAF was so limited last year that it was a waste of time to try and create most outside fighters, but this year I feel like it may be different, and I’d love for some formulas to create guys like Shields and Mousasi.

by 3rdstringsafety on Mar 1, 2010 12:16 AM EST up reply actions

I can def see Mir being a lower rank then Brock this year. Anderson and GSP both tied for highest rank.

any word on guidas hair issue being resolved and what about couture is he only in the ea game

by ldglass on Mar 1, 2010 6:53 AM EST reply actions

Guida is in, it was one of the first info I think, couture is probably out of any UFC game for eternity.

big country

Big Country Nelson would be a great. I hope the belly wiggles like in real life.

Ricardo Romero

Is ridiculous. Bona fide phenom. Only a matter of time before he ends up in the UFC. There isn’t anyone on the independent circuit that can stop him. His brother is a beast too but doesn’t compete.

It is not enough to succeed. Others must fail.

by Jesse Holland on Mar 1, 2010 11:56 AM EST reply actions

The only person I could see beating him is....

Gian Villante. However, we spoke to a guy close to Ring of Combat and he said the fight will probably never happen because Ricardo is close to getting a spot on TUF. We’re actually putting up the interview today.

by 3rdstringsafety on Mar 1, 2010 3:29 PM EST up reply actions

Hey 3rd string safety sorry I should have included it in my first post. I think its MMACAF.com Oh man you are in for a treat these guys were so awesome some of the CAFS look better than what THQ did. Unbelievable. We had the creators and then the stat guys. I was more on the stat side I never would have the skill to create them but I am very analytical in judging fighters.
