Around SBN: Dana White Announces Koscheck vs. Hendricks for UFC on FOX

"I was a little disappointed. To be honest, in my opinion, it was either a draw or Bisping just edged it," Hardy told TapouT Radio. "I think the thing that hurt him was the knockdown at the final bell, but I thought Bisping did great.

"He looked good. He was moving well. He was countering well. It was just unfortunate that he couldn't have pushed the pace just a little bit more,"
- Dan Hardy via MMA Weekly

Bisping also spent half the fight backpeddling and firing off shots with no power behind them. He looked tentative, and like he didn’t really have a gameplan. He couldn’t hold Wandy down, couldn’t slow him on the feet with his jab… Actually, what exactly did Bisping do that makes Hardy think he “just edged it”?

Please tell me Hardy isn’t starting to believe the stories he makes up in his head.

Bisping went in there scared of Silva’s power. I think he was afraid of getting Hendo’d again, so he was looking to make outside shots and get points through takedowns. I don’t think he was looking to do anything except win by decision like he did against Leban. That’s his big problem. He is afraid to engage with guys with power, and when he takes them down, he can’t do anything. It’s not like GSP where he can hold guys down and pound the shit out of them. Lesser skilled guys, sure, he can beat em up, but not the top MWs. Takedowns for the sake of takedowns, IMO, aren’t worth much.

You have to be the man... you have to be very, like, alpha male with her. You know? Decide what you do and everything. So, show her who's the boss, you know? - GSP

How did I end up on this bandwagon and why does everything say property of Chael Sonnen?

Other than the obvious KO by Hendo, if you ask Bisping, he has never lost a fight, and probably would say, he hasn’t lost a round. He lost to Hamil, no question, he lost to Rashad, no question, and he lost to Wand, absolutely no question. I just think he is so overhyped and he believes in his own hype way too much.

Bisping 'moved well'...

Anyone else notice that you could almost see the gears turning in Bispings head when it came to movement? ‘Circle right, circle right, circle right’, but as soon as he threw a shot he would instinctively circle left. That’s going to take years to fix.

I guess Dan Hardy forgot...

As stated earlier in this post:the near submission at the end of round 2. Bisping may have got some good takedowns but he could not capitalize it along with one good shot to Wand’s head in the first round. However, Wand caught Bisping’s kick and swept him twice plus he showed good scrambling and sub defense that transferred into ground and pound. Bisping made attempts to land good shots but just couldn’t get the job done, while Wand closed out the rounds by finishing strong. Hardy needs to STFU and worry about the 5 round grinding he’s going to get from GSP.

Having looked at the compustrike numbers, I stand by my own opinion that Silva won 29-28 or even 30-28 with the first being a draw. Nothing about that fight backs up the claim that Bisping won. He was outstruck and was close to being finished at the end of two different rounds.

LOL yea thank god that fight didn’t last another 10 seconds….saved by the bell twice hardy all I gotta say….Bisping’s biggest issue is he doesn’t have “power” behind his hands (as stated by Joe Rogan) and his glass chin…I wouldn’t put it past Maia being able to KO Bisping…how Kang didn’t do it is wow

by Takun on Feb 25, 2010 1:37 PM EST up reply actions

glass chin?
I might agree with the power statement but I don’t know too many mortals that could walk into a crazy Hendo punch and not get KO’d.

by pr0cs on Feb 25, 2010 1:47 PM EST up reply actions

people are quick to throw the term “glass jaw” around. That shot from hendo would have KO’d god himself. And just becuase wand can stun you and put you on your ass does not put you in the glass jaw catagory. Wand put Saku, and we all know sakuraba would take a shot in the face with a brick and still kneebar your ass.

wand put saku to sleep*

I'm the furthest thing from a Bisping fan, but...

saying the guy has a glass chin is more than a bit unfair.

Outside of getting KTFO’d by one of the more prolific power punchers in the sport, he has not shown a lack of chin. Reluctance to engage, sure, but not a glass chin.

by Razreshat on Feb 25, 2010 1:49 PM EST up reply actions

I'd generally agree

but he was put into survival mode when he ate that shot from Kang and doesn’t remember the punch or a decent span after that. He certainly doesn’t have a chin made of glass, but it’s certainly proved to be dentable.

Yea Wand using more agression would finish bisbing. I think Wand wanted to go nice and slow worried about the cardio the weight cut and kinda fighting not to lose. He needs the confidence a 3 round unaminous can be better for ur confidence sometimes then a 10 sec KO

Hahahah

Just like he’ll think he won after GSP whoops him.
