Heavy Hitters (Gif Heavy)
Lately we've been putting a good deal of emphasis on how good and/or bad a fighters chin is. We're forgetting one thing. Everyone doesn't throw their punches, kicks, elbows, and knees, etc. with the same amount of power. The sport currently has fighters with power that's almost mythic in nature, and they we've probably only seen a few of the real KO machines thus far.
Shane Carwin: Only takes one punch.
via mmachronic.com
Dan Henderson: Right Hand of Doom
Houston Alexander: Say what you will about his skillset, but you can't deny his power.
Junior Dos Santos: Cement Blocks for hands
via i38.tinypic.com
Paul Daley: Definitely not named after the Czech Energy drink
via i50.tinypic.com
What's my point you ask? It's simple. If a fighter gets KO'd by one of MMA's Heavy Hitters, it's probably due to getting hit in the face by a fist that's generating the same force as a moving car. Not their "weak chin". That is all.

I'm gonna make a bold prediction here and say Cain "pillowhands" (as some of you have called him) lol Velasquez catches Nog right on the chin and finishes via strikes on the ground. Nog looked good against an old Randy. It didn't show me much. We’ll see.

Hasn't all this chin talk been about the Nog/Cain fight
Up until that punch nobody thought Cain had power. He clearly does, but he’s not one of your “heavy hitters.” That being said its been too long since we’ve got to see Carwin smack somebody around.
The man known simply as "Christmas Cheesesteak"

Nog got countered, you don’t need mad power to drop someone with a good counter anyway.
"You hit too hard, too hard, too hard..."
How was it a counter when both threw at the exact same time? lol

Cain threw a combo
after Nog started his combo. Nog landed the jab, and tried to come back with a cross… Cain counters this with a left hook, right hook, left hook combo, of which the right landed big.
I'm like PacMan fightin you silly kids... throw ya Hatton the ring, and get knocked outlike Ricky did.
lol.
It's a mix of Cain knocking holy shit out of Nog
and people saying that Wandy’s chin is gone after getting knocked silly by CroCop, Rampage, and Hendo.

@deowade
just realized
to Hazelettes credit, he actually beats Daley to the punch. Dustin lands his left on Daleys chin right before Daley lands the much more powerful blow
He did beat him to the punch
But I’m still confused as to why he even tried to stand with Daley at all.
Walking the line between intelligence and ignorance since 1985
@deowade
No credit for Hazelett on that one. He hit at an angle that completely sapped all his power.

He landed faster but he paid the price for a rushed hook. Dailey throw whith more power and better technique. That’s when you ask yourself WTF he is doing there trading with dailey.
"You hit too hard, too hard, too hard..."
How was he suppose to take him down?
Daley would have dominated in the clinch, and hazlett isn’t exactly a double leg takedown kind of guy.

How did everyone manage to forget how quickly it ended?
Of COURSE he wanted to take it to the ground, everyone knew that, especially Daily. I thought the rolling koppo kick (or whatever they call it in KK) was as good of a lead-off gambit as any. If Daily hadn’t been able or chos enot to back up he probably would’ve wanted to at least throw a shot or two at the downed Hazelett.
Damn, that shoulda been a response to the Hazelett thing. FAIL.

1. Shit did McLovin ever have a pretty poor gameplan!
2. Werdum couldnt’ve headbutted that punch any harder than he did.
3. Please Carwin, please! knock Mir’s pubic goatee right off his head.

Great Rogers gif man!
Yea this is exactly what I’ve been saying. If your getting knocked out by KO artist it does not mean you dont have a chin.
I havent seen the Hendo in full speed in a long time. Jesus… Can someone gif Mcfredries ground punching of Jordan radev. Maybe the most brutal shots I have ever seen def deserves to be on this list…
Ewwwwwwww, just ewwwwwwwwwww

@deowade
McFedries and Robbie Lawler IMO have p4p the most power in MMA.
"He wants to portray himself as the crazy one; I think he’s just portraying himself as the weird one. And we’re gonna know which guy’s more crazy when we get into the Octagon." - BJ Penn (about Diego Sanchez)

Fedor has more finess. He doesn’t necessarily throw everything he has into every punch he throws. He punches to make combos and catch people. (With the exception of when he killed Rogers.) But when McFedries throws a punch, he’s aiming to take your head off with every single punch. And most of the time he’s only throwing one punch at a time, not many combos.
IE:
"He wants to portray himself as the crazy one; I think he’s just portraying himself as the weird one. And we’re gonna know which guy’s more crazy when we get into the Octagon." - BJ Penn (about Diego Sanchez)

… That was supposed to be McFedries trying to decapitate Xavier Foupa-Poukam.

What the hell are u saying? Fedor finesse? You clearly dont no anything my friend. Fedor has designed his punch much like the muay thai kick., The baseball on a string theory. It enables him to punch much harder than anyone else
Rampaga 1800 psi anyone? Chuck lidell winding over hand?
ya Sambo casting punches
they hurt….lots
but it is also why Fedor always injures his hands.
"Ehh I don't think it's just me; I think nobody likes him"

He injures his hand because his technique is fucking disgusting.
by dancingChicken on Feb 26, 2010 11:46 AM EST up reply actions
as in it's bad?
if the case then no he throws perfect casting punches.
just go google Sambo Casting punches and you’ll get a whole punch of people punching like Fedor.

Because Melvin Guillard and KJ Noons
has some brutal power at LW.

I don't think P4P means what you think it means
It’s a hell of a lot harder for a heavyweight to be P4P anything, they have to be above and beyond the greatest at whatever you’re talking about. Fedor is a powerful guy, but not that far above people at lighter weights.
Now if only McFedries actually learned some jitz

That is nothing compared to how devastating Drew’s was. He was out cold to begin with. Plus you have to actually KO someone to be on this thread I believe.. some of fedors best work though beautiful..
Why dont we see this from him anymore? Oh yea hes KOing every1 on the feet now. LOl Best GNP (Punches ) in the game
Back in the day
Mach packed a hell of a punch.
