Roger Huerta in Tekken (2010) goes direct to DVD in the UK on April 5: (trailer)

There weren't any pictures of Cung Le even though Cung had a larger role. As of now, there is no plan to release the movie in North American theatres and is going straight to DVD in the UK on April 5th.

So much for that lucrative post-MMA movie career!

I guess we’ll see Huerta back in the cage soon.

Get rid of the ramp!

I rec’d even though you missed the wide-open Zoolander reference.

Here's hoping...

He doesn’t end up shot out the bottom end of the porn industry like War Machine.

They actually call that the "Reverse Matador".

It is usually not a good sign about a movie’s quality if the studio who made it an already financed its production refuses to pay for theater distribution costs. I loved Tekken when I was younger, but odds are the film is horrible.

Low budget—- check
Video game movie—- check
Straight to video—- check

Yeah. I would say the odds are good its horrible.

But seriously, Huerta probably made plenty of money doing this movie, and he didn’t have to pay for a training camp or get punched in the face to do it. A nice little straight-to-dvd action movie career is easily more profitable than the equivalent spot on the MMA career hierarchy, and you’re career can last a lot longer.

So I assume neither Cung or Huerta will win an Oscar any time soon...

7 figures

A close friend of mine knows the guy who did it for 7 years. 7 figures a year.

Sounds good, but…I mean you have to be Ronald McDonald for 7 years. Imagine the damage to his psyche – that’s alot of therapy afterward.

I don't know about you guys...

But I’m actually going to watch this but will be skipping Death Warrior, Kerosene Cowboys, Unrivaled, and Hell’s Chain, all of which are movies featuring fighters…

I will watch this movie

and will most likely love the hell out of it. Then again, I went to Snakes on a Plane at midnight and it was the best theater experience I’ve ever had.

Wha?

And is that Paul London?

Why am I asking you??

by asa on Feb 19, 2010 9:15 AM EST up reply actions

Why do I feel bad for knowing who Paul London is? But no, his name is Jon Foo.

WWE guilt?

Or ROH guilt? I’m of the latter.

A little of both, but I deployed with a squad of wrestling fanatics so it’s all we had to watch sometimes…

As a big MMA fan...

I will specifically NOT see this movie because it has MMA fighters instead of real actors, fighters should fight, actors should act, not really sure why this is a hard concept

If a fighter acts, doesn’t that make him an actor? Is Herschel Walker still a football player? What about Brock Lesnar is he still an Actor/Wrestler? Pull your skirt down and let these guys make money.
